the mc didn't "scatter their thoughts" with the memory portion of their powers that was all body it worked because as a liquid the mc has no mind to attack and the actions carried out in this form are instinctual and without consciousness therefore there is nothing for authority to latch on to. it was to showcase that a fight between one of the body and one of authority is not a forgone conclusion in favor of the 1st apostle. their rivalry was foreshadowed a long time ago and got a lot of crumbs dedicated to it with the last 2 updates just straight up telling us that body and authority do not like each other and body wants to beat authority for it's superior attitude.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought the other poster is right and that its Memory that allows the MC to even use forms like that. He has used memory to attack with his liquid form that would otherwise not have a mind, with at least one dead end with liquid form even leading to his death because he has no mind with which to return.

It makes sense that Memory would have the defensive edge over authority, Body is body, it can only really resist authority either by killing them first or raw power, Memory has the ability to alter or delete existing memories, unlike body it stands to reason it can directly interact with the changes authority makes, until we maybe get some version of authority that alters the physical.

Actually Lv3 Cole had far more power than Lv3 MC then, almost double the power. And lv3 MC didn't beat lv4 Cole alone, it took him, Deryl, and Limber to achieve that, and even then it was an extremely difficult fight. Also, the Cole fight happened before the monster world arc which lasts 4 updates iirc, and MC indeed had very minimal visible growth in strength/skills for the arc considering how long it was(basically the only thing we got is the increase in MP number which is not a good way to show progress), so yeah guy is right.
Do we know Cole had THAT much more power at level 3? I definitely didn't get that sense from the writing. More power for sure, probably even by a lot. I was thinking like ~600 at the most to MC's ~400 though, not double. Cole was being written like one of the strongest a normal level 3 could reasonably get on Earth without tons of war experience like the Captains have. It wouldn't make sense if his power at that point was as strong as MC gets after a year in monster world conditions.

And yeah I wasn't saying WW is doing a good job with showing the growth per each update. Just that you can get a decent picture of it by taking all the info the game gives wholistically instead of relying only on the narrative text. It's there even if not told well in the story at the moment, and the stoyrtelling at least does a good job showcasing how his experience is shaping his mental fortitude, just strolling up to Fenrir and baiting it no problem. But at least the big battle against the monster horde did show some (and that massive A rank the team took down on their own). Like someone else pointed out, too much is being learned when we hit Training that isn't being told to us when we do it which makes it convenient for WW but takes away the anticipation for us. But it would be way worse if we didn't get awesome shit like Ella+MC combo and MC+Michael combo, which were both AMAZING follow-ups to what MC learned teaming up with Deryl against Cole.

Damn, wow. Thanks for that. Holy shit how did he throw so hard.

At least I was still right that MC is gonna be stronger for his 4th evo than Cole was, just not by as much as I thought.
I think he'll actually be slightly lower in terms of raw Power score, since if we follow the pattern he should get 2000 Power from evolving and I don't think you can break 1100 as of the current update. But the MC uses his strength much more effectively than Cole does, so despite being technically weaker he'd functionally be stronger.

Is this the first time you've asked Tiffany recently, or does it go way back before the world went crazy? Because I don't want to have to go back all the way back lol
How’s it going? This is the second time we get these options.

The first time, we could choose between power, love, money, or sex.

Obviously, the love option involves Claudia, and I guess it’s meant to lead to a possible wedding between the MC and her.

But in my opinion, I think that’s going to happen regardless of whether you choose that option or not.

I believe that the first time we get those choices, most people go for power or money.

That is completely incorrect.
The technique is called "Memory Lock: Liquid". While the MC can use liquid form instinctually, he needs to use memories to give his liquid form instructions so it can actually carry out attacks. Go back and replay that fight scene. MC specifically mentions that Jake's attacks don't work because MC doesn't have a singular mind but a lattice of memories and Jake's power can't affect all of them.

If you focus on Power/Skill fully (in detriment to anything else), you can. Power can reach up to 1.135 and Skill up to 70; but this is spending Power on nothing (no chaos flame, trade w/shopkeep, etc).

I must have done something suboptimal, then. I did spend Power at the monster city, but even if I hadn't I'd only be at 1096 Power. I know I missed out in a few places, but I didn't think I was forty points behind. Damn.

I have 1.040 at the end of this update, this is mostly because of the Shape-Changing Heart and the Kid. Together, they took 70 Power from me. :V

That green kid better pay the MC back. I don't think he will, and if he does I will have to apologize for killing him, but it would be nice if it worked out. The MC being able to say that he got his strength from a supernatural Ponzi scheme would be funny, if nothing else.

Ella herself said a single minded obsession with growing stronger is the key, trainning is just part of it.

Also never said anything about body building, my point was the absolute focus on one goal is what makes Michael the potentialy strongest. Everyone else has things that distract them.

Ofc I know luck and circumstances play a key part in it. But I do believe a mentality like Michael's is the key to reaching the summit of power.

Also, Michael's roadblock was due to HERO keeping him locked up. He himself said that, if he hadn't been held up, he would have sought out monsters to kill and challenge on his own , just like he adviced the Mc to do pre Valravn fight, thus he would have figured out how his powers work MUCH sooner without HERO.
So you really can't blame his roadblock on him or say his roadblock was due to a character flaw, it was due to HERO's restrictions.
Michael's roadblock was mental. He had never encountered a foe he couldn't overcome by sheer force of will and simply training harder

He needed to "let go" to evolve

He did say 'Memory Lock-' before going full tsunami on Jake, literally, so Im sure he did use memory powers to resist Jakes mental attacks, and like obibobi said, the reason he can even control his instinctual liquid form is because of memory powers, otherwise with no mind or thought he would become a puddle of black MC juice and die like at that level 2 training event.

I feel like people saying MC didn't visibly grow enough are just blueballed waiting on lvl 4 and its making them miss the forest for the trees.

Part of it might also be that the MC has in fact grown so strong and has fought other strong opponents to the point where conveying the strength becomes difficult and requires a level of abstraction to appreciate. At lvl2 he was still vulnerable to large groups of humans with conventional weapons, so powerscaling MC when he beat Valravn (who mowed through humans despite them having tanks) or Jake (over a hundred soldiers iirc) was simple due to how grounded it was. Now at lvl3 you have to use a bit more imagination to understand how beefy his armor truly is to withstand blows that would've obliterated him at lvl2 or how much his brute force (not even his forte) grew to send Yuren through several floors. Moreover, the ease of transformation and the increase in his arsenal of forms isn't something you can put as concrete a number on like power level or how big a crater you can punch into a mountain, but is nonetheless a vital and significant to the growth of his trait. There's a whole lot more to his progression than "make scythe but bigger".

On the topic of Yuren, I think here is where you really see MC shine. When MC and Deryl freshly evolved, it was an even match between two lvl3s. When he fought Cole, he was outclassed in raw strength but his skill saw him through (until Cole evolved). When he fought Yuren it was so absurdly one sided it was like the MC smacking a toddler around. A fellow lvl3, yet absolutely no match for him. It wasn't quick either, so you got to appreciate the MC methodically dismantling Yuren, beating him blow for blow, foiling every single stratagem, really just flexing the culmination of not just his improvement in power but also adaptability. The only thing that really detracts from this is Yuren not having any prior on screen feats against other superhumans to build him up as a threat.

I think another less appreciated aspect of the MC's growth, though it extends to the whole party, is the ability to coordinate to take out stronger foes. The way everyone hit the ground running upon encountering monsters of Earth and seamlessly teamed up to kill Gigante with no hesitation is honestly pretty amazing. The MC's growth as a tactician (even if he wasn't alone in it) has improved considerably compared to how relatively awkward his fight alongside Michael at the portal was.
Yeah that was my opinion too about the yuren fight. People were saying how weak Yuren was and how easy it was to beat him, but they didnt get the point at all.

The MC has always been torn in half in fights against everything except trash mobs. That didn’t happen against Yuren, which must mean that he was weak.

That's not the case. He could have evolved whenever he wanted. He was holding back because he wanted to absorb the energy of a S-class monster because that was one of his trials, but he knew that if he didn't evolve then he was going to die.

I've no idea wtf you're talking about and that is not at all what happened in the slightest.
I think he's getting mixed up and thinking you're referring to Michael's third evolution, rather than when he couldn't figure out what his power was.

Yo, public release is out.

Various bugfixes included as well as a separate audio channel for sex sound effects, it's just in the menu with all the other sound volumes, so you can adjust the volume or reduce it to zero if it's not your thing.

Let me know if any more bugs pop up.
