Wym? It is magical monster radiation. It's made with monster power, and things with monster power innately resist other things with monster power. So, magical monster radiation would resist shapeshifting in the same way that superhumans can resist and could even eventually revert MC's and Ella's shapeshifting because of its monster power.
Michael's ability comes from Power, the second apostle, which holds power over... powers. Michael himself displayed this multiple times, and in the previous update (not the most recent one, the one before that(I think)) Michael did the rituals to control and manipulate a few different kinds of energies, which would imply Power controls "power" as in energy, and that would naturally include monster power. Radiation's simply either the "default" state of Power (As in the trait), or just Michael's default, for whatever reason. Or maybe its just that most enemies he saps power from give it to him in the form of radiation, I wouldn't know.

Power suppression/negation was an attribute of Dark, last I checked. Also, I believe Michael inhibiting Tiffany's light was more due to the fact that he exuded such high amounts of energy instead of his power having any power suppression functions.
I didn't really mean negation or suppression, as much as power draining and/or controlling the flow of energy in general.. I worded that incorrectly, sorry.
And wasn't she initially winning, until he sapped the energy of her attacks for himself?
Just replaying and man, I can't imagine any battle ever topping the Cole fight. Being able to literally weaponize NTR against him is just the absolute peak of this entire website

What??? The only things I said were that A) the Power trait has been repeatedly shown to mess with monster power (as well as other types of energy), and that B) monster power in general messes with monster power.
If the Power trait messes with monster power, it affecting the activation of shapeshifting/regen isn't a stretch at all, and regardless of that, the presence of foreign monster power in MC's body delivered via Michael's radiation causing radiation poisoning would hinder MC's transformation in the same way Cole's heat did, because monster power hinders abilities.
So it's not some "monster radiation" or even "magical monster radiation", it's ionising radiation just like Alpha/Beta/Gamma/Neutron radiation... In other words, at long last, you've been saying that yes, nuclear radiation would at the very least harm and possibly kill the MC.
So "thank you" for providing the most pointlessly convoluted answer to what was asked in the first place, and for actually agreeing with my supposition in the first place.

...What I said is that the radiation doesn't necessarily have anything to do with Michael slowing down MC's regen beyond being what gets Michael's monster power to MC's body, and possibly interfering with MC's monster power by virtue of Michael having Power as his monster trait, but you're free to interpret what I said however you'd like.
It's not about a different interpretation, it's your own words and what they actually mean.

If I remember my chemistry correctly, ionizing radiation is when radiation has enough energy to knock electrons out of atoms, but that doesn't answer how this relates to anything I said.

As I understand it, Michael's attacks inhibit regeneration on two fronts. One natural, one supernatural. Firstly, his attacks are ionizing radiation. That causes heat that physically burns cells, as well as lyzing cell membranes, damaging DNA, and causing the formation of toxic ionic compounds. All of those are things that would prevent healing. Secondly, at least his radiation blade has been described as also channeling corrupted life energy into what he cuts with it. That impedes supernatural abilities that would heal the target. His other attacks might do that as well, we haven't been given any narration indicating it, but it's possible. Still, with multiple ways for Michael to block healing, he's a real danger to anything that isn't a huge cheater like that Drek monster.
Replaying the game gave me a lot of meme material until next update:
