If there were options to choose your own monster pet, I would choose a slime that, after saving it from losing its parents to a strong monster, the MC saves it, and the slime decides to keep it safe. The MC gives it a touch of blood as a pact, and the slime gains similar characteristics, like turning black and discovering that eating makes it stronger and copies abilities. This is the dream I had last night. Wouldn't it be great?

Speaking of which, I'm 99% certain WeirdWorld just rewrote the Dead End 37: Dead Again. Now it explicitly states the reborn eye is seeking "their chosen", and Goliath no longer says "prophet" when encountered

It's been that way for a while. At least since 0.961, but probably earlier, that's just the earliest update I have saved to check the script for. It's been that as far back as I can remember. What Goliath calls the Eye is "Lārēow" (Renpy has trouble with diacritical marks sometimes, that's why the blank characters). It's Old English, meaning a teacher of doctrine or religious leader. It's a pretty similar meaning to calling the Eye "prophet". Not quite identical, but close enough that it's probably just meant to indicate how old Goliath is that he doesn't speak the modern language. Kind of like how Aglaecwif slips into Old English a lot, too.

Its not renpy having issues, its actually the fact that the Papyrus font doesn't have support for it.

I've been playing around with various free for commercial use fonts to try and find one that can encompass all of Algaecwif. Still looking, but this looks nice and has a lot of diacritic support, just seems to be missing some of the lesser used symbols.

This is the same as it was on release.
Goliath always said Lārēow, and the Eye always sought "Their chosen".
[I'd documented this pretty well in the discord, just checked the history, nothing changed.]
Lārēow was just interpreted as Prophet by the community.
It could also be translated as Teacher, or Master.
Master is the safest bet, in my opinion.

I added a macron (the dash on top of the letters) on all missing letters of the font itself using the preexisting glyph too, so now it SHOULD display all missing characters correctly. Let me know if you find any error!


(Just make a backup of "PAPYRUS.ttf" from "game/gui" on a secure place before anything else, and then drop the new font there to add the missing glyphs)

There are various instances of the Monster 'language' being used that I'm actually very curious to understand.

Come to mind whatever the Asura tell MC after he managed to defeat it, or whatever the Himavat tell Bernhardt before punching him, the latter being particularly curious, since Bern seem actually able to understand, thinking about it, is stated(don't remember if was Bramon, Nyx or someone else) that some people within HERO, understand a little of the monster tongue, that must mean those mfs are truly corrupted as hell, like Captains might have 200+ corruption or something like that, with how long they have been supers and how many they toasted.

Played some more after a little break. This infiltration mission to the SIN ceremony was pretty cool. Loved the time loop gimmick when you hit a Dead End. Got me wondering about whatever it was that ended up wiping his power so much that he couldn't do anything for so long. He must have been resetting loops a shit ton to get the win.

Shame we had to leave Met and Rina behind. I liked them. Guess they're gonna be enemies under the mind-control now. Feh. FEH, I SAY.
