Something I think most people have forgotten about the 1st's powers is that according to Ella, Jake was supposed to have more control over the physical world than he does, and she mentioned that it was probably because he was constantly thinking. I think Authority doesn't just mean authority over people, or powers, or anything like that. Authority is authority over everything, from body, mind, to even matter. I think this update confirmed something for me, that the whole point of our creation, and even Yuren's, is to host an, or maybe two in our case, Apostle in our bodies. Think about the Dead End, To Powerful to Soon, Ella doesn't call us perfect until she sees that we are capable of replicating chemicals that even she seems surprised we can create. Syla says we look perfect, but it's only because her and Stephen are such pure subjects that it makes up for our shortcomings. In the Truth path, they say that we can't trust Syla or Ella, because that's their goals, to turn us into a vessel for the Apostles, or maybe the Arbiters in Syla's case, of their choices. That's why death and a reconstructed body are supposed to be our way out, technically everything made in the universe is in some part made from the 12, and with the right mix controllable by the 6. So how are we supposed to make a body out of something that will free us? What if the 1% of us isn't Evolution, what if it's the other Outer Twin? The one who died in Chaos' memory we get in the monster world? They count the deaths as 3 and 1 dying (iirc, that was how it was written in the game), but shouldn't that just be 4 died? Unless they are saying that 3 Arbiter's died, and one of the Outer Twins died. You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
Here's how I think it works, the Great Ocean is a failed version of what Amber is supposed to become, the tree who's name I forget is a failed version of what we have the possibility of becoming, and the Black Moon is supposed to hatch and become a new vessel for the God that died and split into the Outer Twins. Having the possibility of becoming an Outer Twin fixes something in my old hypothesis too, Ella says that the Arbiters are hated by most of monster kind, but Truth Judge says that everyone is waiting for what we will become, with an implication based on where that statement is that it is the 3rd option, the one where we are unbound, that they would be most happy with.
It also explains to me how the Apostles died. They didn't die from being in a temporary shell, that doesn't make sense. They are only temporarily connected, so if the vessel was destroyed, they'd just be disconnected. A decent might explain it, but if that was the case, I feel like all of the Apostles would be dead save maybe Power and/or Authority if that was the case. But if it was because they created bodies that were capable of containing most of themselves, then descended into those bodies in a ritual, then died fighting a descent or something from outside of the universe they are in, it would make more sense to me.
I could be completely wrong, misremembering things, or making extreme conjectures based entirely off of circumstantial evidence at best. If someone has a screenshot that definitively proves me wrong, please post it. If someone has a different or better theory, share your thoughts. But if I'm right, wouldn't it be cool that WW has been putting in such possible clues since some of the earliest builds of the game that someone might figure out that that's where the story is going?
