I hope the MC getting injected with a serum from Fenrir has more implications than just a power boost. Most of his monster anatomy scans have been, but we got special attention drawn to the three monsters he was consuming in this update, and both shown and told that Fenrir and his mate are ridiculously strong even without their powers. It would be cool if the MC got a combat transformation based on them. Maybe something he'll do when he evolves, pull out some new forms based on monsters rather than animals, and Fenrir will be one of them.

The other monsters, too, but Fenrir is the most obvious on how to translate that into a powerful form. The Leigong I can see having some uses, if its crystals do let the MC control his explosive electricity reaction some then he could use them to make bomb spears or something. Do that combo he's done a few times with Deryl, all on his own. That radioactive acid lizard, though...that one stumps me. Toxin resistance and indefinite lifespan doesn't really give a direct combat power.

No, I get it. This game has a ton of good reviews - and they use all the right words - so I'm not dropping it because of a small thing.

It's just such practice itself is killing me.
I see it way too often from different authors - and each time I think: "Are you trying to make me close your game?"

I should note, if you're new, that you should be saving religiously. In the first thirty days or so, it's really easy to lock yourself out of routes due to funky timing shenanigans, or find a Dead End. I personally have filled over 77 pages worth of saves, and I wasn't even saving at every possible check. It gets less harsh after those thirty days or so though, so don't worry too much about it.

Sooooo the infection ... im probably missing lots of stuff, is the infection (black mouth?) related in any way to the MC and/or the uh voice talking to him? Is the voice (face) the same voice as the eye aka the origin? Im kinda confused at this point.

Is the MC infected or maybe even the origin of the infection? The infection has to be at least related to ella, right? And they (sin) need her for ... whatever ritual(s) ... while ella needs the mc as her chosen one.

The face that the MC has been seeing lately is the Eye, yeah. He remarks the first time he sees it that it looks different than he's used to, and it talks like it's the Eye, so they're the same being that has just changed. The Eye has said that its pieces are coming together, so that's presumably why it's a whole face now and not just an eye. It's probably the Eye's voice that the MC has been hearing, too.

The Black Mouth's infection seems to be unrelated to the Eye. It's some sort of biotech antenna, basically. A way for the Black Mouth to extend the range of his powers. Anyone infected by it, the Black Mouth can speak to and influence. If they reach the skin-covering stage, he can control them directly, taking over their bodies. He can then use an infected host as a relay, sending his signal out from them to control anyone with a lesser infection. We don't know where the Black Mouth got his infection from, but given that Yuren found it inside a meteor, it's presumably much older than the current conflict. Something the Black Mouth sent out into the universe hundreds of thousands of years ago.

We don't know what Ella's rituals are supposed to do. It's probably responsible for the eclipse, Doll Ella takes credit for that, but that's just the first stage and we don't know what the others are. It might have something to do with the Eye, in one of the Dead Ends the Eye is strengthened by the eclipse. But it's still one of the big mysteries of the story.

It would have been good to get some foreshadowing on this. I wish someone like the MC challenged Nico's overconfidence by saying "Yeah but what happens if you fight someone who can't be killed by teleporting them away"
Although that would have been too on the nose.


Also Nico fucks over so many people during the Battle of Diamonds and gets so many killed because of her actions.

Most of us are just disappointed and really want his old personality back, so we can beat the shit out of him and kill him. This cole is so lifeless and not even worth killing. Damn it I need the old cole back, I need to feel hatred for him again, revenge won't be sweet with the new one.

With Fenrir though, if you go for its memories MC himself kinda messed up not mentioning that they could even resist Malik's fire to a point. Would've been better to keep teleporting it into good positions for Alexis to hit it.

No it didn't. Nico opened up a portal to the sun in front of Ella, sort of like a very powerful flamethrower.

I mean, back then the hate was fresh because his Arc was on full motion, but all things in consideration, Jake's far less of an asshole than many, MANY characters in the game, even those who are not antagonists, he's spinless and turned on the MC far to easily despite being intelligent enough to see through Ella's ploy he if actually stop to think for two seconds. All that to say, people liking him now, with time having passed and true Monsters showing up, like Tanos, is not all that surprising

They said can't be beaten by being teleported away. If the teleport doesn't work at all, they can't be beaten that way. Eisheth is the perfect example, MC even gets to see that one himself. I wonder what he'd have thought if he saw Ella dodging teleportation.

It's definitely why she has her knife though. Whether it's the knife itself or Nico's inherent strength, we know from how much it hurt Eisheth that it's a lot stronger than MC's mantis axe combo (or was during that fight). So she has an answer to fighting if her portals can't do the job, but it's not an amazing one for an S rank like the Fenrir.

If I didn't already have enough reason to hate Nico. That truly solidified my opinion that Nico is a trash character that I pray gets killed off IMMEDIATELY. Either that or she teleports off somewhere and simply doesn't return. Sorry to the Nico fans but I don't like her.
