Something interesting Nico mentions in this update is that all the strongest people in the Hero, and even outside of it, don’t rely only on getting stronger through straightforward evolutions. In her case, she has the Hexenringe, but she also says the other captains have similar special tools or mechanisms that boost their power.

So what would the MC have?

I keep thinking his main “tool” might be the memory abilities, but those don’t seem particularly useful for direct combat… Outside of that, he has some body modifications like the monster heart, certain absorptions, items from the shopkeeper, etc. But none of these feel like a concrete, defining power source. Honestly, the impression is that all of this just translates into stat boosts.

Ella definitely had abnormal things in her body to have that kind of overwhelming power.

So what do you think he could develop in the future beyond that?

The only thing that makes the most sense imo is his ability to absorb people and things.

If MC gets 20+ mp at lvl 2, 200+ mp at lvl 3.
You can work out how much lvl 4 would give him.

I wish WW had made Mc's power scale multiplicatively (like +x% of current power each evolution) instead of the flat power gains.

Level 2 evo_bonus = 20 + max(0, (pre_evo − 10) × 2) → equivalent to: ×3 total if you beat 10, otherwise minimum +20
Level 3 evo_bonus = 200 + max(0, (pre_evo − 100) × 2) → equivalent to: ×3 total if you beat 100, otherwise minimum +200
Level 4 evo_bonus = 2000 + max(0, (pre_evo − 1000) × 2) → equivalent to: ×3 total if you beat 1000, otherwise minimum +2000
Basically:
On evolution, give the player ×3 their current power, but never less than the baseline flat bonus.”

This would have rewarded players more for having higher power levels at the end of an evo, but would have still given decent gain from your evo if you had less than the baseline flat bonus.

Does anyone know if the weirdworld could still add this tiered evolution bonus system retroactively without breaking the story or existing saves?
Basically I want to know if getting extra power (230) from your 3rd evolution would break the game in any way up til this point.

Idk what WW is coking, but i will say that we will be in the context of a war and grand scale conflicts; eating monsters is a way to gain power, but i think that alone is not really enough, that memory thing and the voice is important.

But we have seen him gain power through both, he also gained a sizable power boost on that memory Journey with his mom.

It could already be cooked and Nico's talk was to show that this avenue was better than just fighting and training, that these things are meaningful within the story and not just an additional boost. I mean if he ripped an organ from one of these s-classes or devoured their memories it could play the part in forming one of his forms.

Or maybe he devours a bunch and becomes some amalgamation.

Sure thing, but i believe it is more that just a power boost, getting the correct amount is a requirement (we can guess this with the voice telling us to devour some monster finger in the rich charity event), but it is not everythig. Memory will be important too, specially when it comes with the fact that our creator may have his own agenda, what the hell is the voice in our head and the core identity of the MC.
Like i said, level 4 should be something special, that or i am just overthinking.

Mention saying Syla used the powers of others but that's not exactly what she did, she used the memories of others, powerful but its important because there's a thematic and mechanical difference. She uses them as they are, given that they are memories they cannot be altered, cannot be improved upon.

I hope no one ever has it, especially the MC. Weird even went out of his way to mention how the MC doesn't absorb the power of anyone when he eats them, power being some spiritual trait unrelated to the flesh. Although eating powerful monsters probably will be his version of Nico enslaving Hexen Rings, benefitting from their combined supernatural physiology and he could end getting traits like acid spit and alternative senses.

You are correct, but Sylla went beyond that.
The Egrogore for example, that thing wasn't just memories, but literal souls and/or consciousness of others.
