We don't know what exactly she's doing, but when asked about Ella, Aglaecwif says something about how she'll even sacrifice those she's close to to save the world or whatever it was. It's just a reply to the "strong empathy" post above.
You get a dead end when she cuts off your head. It is pretty obvious what is going to happen. She takes away your agency to do whatever she wants with you for her own goals. Do you think she's doing the MC a favour here or something?
Really? There's a massive difference between how she treats the MC and how she treats Jake.Again, it wasn't at the start. This was written into the story later. She liked the MC, sure but as a possibility out of many, including Jake.
Actually, she doesn't. If someone has a bad reaction to the pill, indicating they wouldn't become a superhuman, she knocks them unconscious and kills the monster that comes for them. And she feeds monster pills to people at the MC's college and then culls them when they don't make the transformation into a superhuman.
I don't know of this Cole you speak of....But he sounds like a great guy and it would be perfect if big sis Ella fall in a love with himDamn it, which one of you was the funny guy who gave Cole internet access?![]()
Even from the very beginning, I never got the impression that Ella didn't care about the MC. She initially came off as an annoyingly vague plot device meant to keep the early lore ambiguous IMO. As a result, I only interacted with her when the story forced me to. However, I always got the impression that early on there was a least a small amount of pride that she had in the MC. You can clearly see it in the Jake Arc. From the conversions that Jake would have with the MC, and with himself, it was clear that Ella talked about the MC off-screen A LOT.i think his point is that those parts are still the same and don't match with the ella WW has been developing in later parts of the game where ella is clearly written to "care" about you and that not tracking with early game stuff. i'll admit playing the game all the way through and having her be a cryptic asshole who seems to view you as a tool or a pawn and then for her park meetup to be like "by the way i actually care about you even when i do really fucked up things to you or those around you." is pretty telling of some kind of shift in her character that WW decided to go all in on going forward even if it clashed with earlier characterization.
you had to have missed something coz there are plenty Amber scenes if you do it rightNgl ive been playing thru the stories and I havent seen ANYTHING amber related, kinda bummed out that im pretty far into the game and not a single scene has been unlocked even tho, ive picked all good options for her
that's the neat part, you can replay the whole game after each updateMan, I really need recaps between updates. I could remember the big plot points from the previous update but I can't recall all the smaller details being referenced
Yeah this is a recurring thing that's kind of easy to let slip by if we only focus on the things meant to piss us off. Cuz yeah, we're supposed to be annoyed that she withholds information. We're supposed to be angry that she manipulates situations to get MC into those fights. And it's so that our choices about whether to trust her or not feel like they matter (among other things but that would get a little text wall-y). We're supposed to feel like we're taking a risk in trusting her if we choose to.I always got the impression that early on there was a least a small amount of pride that she had in the MC. I disagree. Being independent and relying on her own strength is like a fundamental pillar of Ella's character. She explicitly says how important individual power is and it is a clear through-line with almost everything she does. If we embrace the idea that this single quality is THE quality she values, then Ella caring for MC and doing what she did to him from the very start align perfectly.i think his point is that those parts are still the same and don't match with the ella WW has been developing in later parts of the game where ella is clearly written to "care" about you and that not tracking with early game stuff. i'll admit playing the game all the way through and having her be a cryptic asshole who seems to view you as a tool or a pawn and then for her park meetup to be like "by the way i actually care about you even when i do really fucked up things to you or those around you." is pretty telling of some kind of shift in her character that WW decided to go all in on going forward even if it clashed with earlier characterization.
I mean yeah, thats the whole point of ella isnt it?Yeah this is a recurring thing that's kind of easy to let slip by if we only focus on the things meant to piss us off. It starts as some fairly obvious hype with that thumbs up she gives as MC is getting chased by two Apostles. Goes into expressions of approval in the initiative he shows to go out testing and improving his new powers on his own and asking her for help when he needs it. Showing pride in the fights he wins, and appreciation when he listens to and trusts her with a sincerity she never gives to Jake or even Cole. She rewards him and no one else with deeper intimacy for training to the limit of what he's capable of getting from it. She's constantly excited about the idea of MC getting stronger while with Jake she's constantly angry that he needs so much micromanagement and oversight, and Jake followed her directions better than Cole has recently.
Damn I want Ella to come back and see MC at some point after he hits level 4. She'd be so damn thrilled and I wanna fuckin' see that.
Oh she cared about him in the early game but that was more of her viewing him as an useful tool or object of amusement. There was even moments where if she thought he would die, she would shrug and move on. Very odd to use Jake as an example, most of her interactions with Jake where her planting a false image of the MC in Jakes mind to manipulate him and making an explicit requirement that he must kill the MC, she would use talk of the MC to make Jake angry.Even from the very beginning, I never got the impression that Ella didn't care about the MC. February, maybe.Does anyone know an estimation for when the next update is going to drop? From what I understand its a long way down cause WW is also developing 1.0 along with the next update.
Honestly, this is just another sin I would put at Thanos' feet:Damn it, which one of you was the funny guy who gave Cole internet access?![]()
