VN - Ren'Py - Completed - SWe1: The Warrior's Heart [v1.0] [Mortze]

Note: I am not a Star Wars fan. I have never watched any of the movies or otherwise interacted with the brand. Am I missing out? Maybe, but I don't care.

Time to Complete: 2 hours + 1 hour to go through paths.

TL;DR: An amazing game with beautiful renders and an engaging story, with it's only fault being that it's simply too short for your choices to matter all that much,

[4/5] Story: Unfortunately, the game is too short for the story to have very much depth to the branching paths. The branches only affect what sex scenes you get and give you a little bit of background information on the characters. While the game may be extremely linear, it is extremely engaging and I was completely engrossed throughout my playthroughs.

[5/5] Renders: Every single render in this game looks gorgeous. It's clear a massive amount of work was put into fine attention to detail and there was also clearly a significant amount of work done out of the rendering engine to really make the renders look as beautiful as they do.

[5/5] Renders - Characters: While the characters' base models aren't unique to just this game, they are still great models and definitely fit their characters very well.

[5/5] UI: This game has among the best looking UIs out of all the VNs I have played. It clearly was made from the ground up for this game specifically and doesn't appear to have a single default element from the standard RenPy UI.

It's a deep story with a probable future narrative path. A globally coherent lore, I say globally because the SW franchise is so lost that it's hard to find your way around.
And a gallery of interesting characters that can lead to situations as funny as they are serious.

Visually speaking, Mortze did a great job. Whether it's the characters or the background scenery, the game is really superb.
And even though I'm not a fan of the MC's design, I really like all the other characters, including the background characters.

I don't give it five stars because perfection doesn't exist. On the other hand, if I could have given it 4.5 stars i would have done it gladly.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the sequel, and until then I highly recommend it. And since criticism is easier than practice, I'd like to say thank you and bravo to Mortze for his work.

Fantastic game. Great art, great animations, and a great story that draws you in and keeps you hooked. When I reached the end of this version, I was sad that I couldn't keep going to learn what happens next. Looking forward to future installments!

Amazing! The story alone is worth it, but the detailed visuals really pull you into the universe. There characters are unique and believable. The sexy scenes are solid. The only gripe is the frame rate of the animations, but honestly this would be a hit in my book without them.

Don't be fooled by this being Episode 1. There's an great amount of content with good pacing. Must play!

This game so far has been really good, the story was great with each character having a nice back story and the plot seems like it is gonna get even better as the game gets updates.
The renders are very nice and i liked the girls though the
Twi'lek would have been as a blue or red one imo.

This is a completed first part in what, as I understand, is intended to be a series. This is an excellent VN with enough choices to make you feel involved, great sex scenes, a likeable protagonist, and a genuinely interesting story.
The only reason I think it feels short is because I was so caught up in it. It is a complete story, the author has said, and it is satisfying for a first part.

Worst part about this VN is the fact that we have to wait for the next part, haha! In all seriousness though, I wish Mortze and their team all the best, and look forward to their continued work on this series, and anything else they may dabble in.

great stuff, awesome visuals and good story so far. the characters have a lot of detail and backstory. could use a little bit more choice variety, more than just who to hang out with but promising so far, need more good sci fi/star wars around here

A must-play for any Star Wars fan. The creator(s) really captured the feel for the Star Wars universe, and are obviously well-versed in the lore. It was enjoyable for that fact alone.


My only regret was that there were not more choices involved. This is truly a Visual Novel and not a game, per se. It felt as though I were watching and not participating in the story. As a result, there was little emotional attachment to the characters or the story.

I recently found this unpolished gem and I am very glad I did. Now I need to go check to see if anything further was ever done, as I note that this was from 2017-ish. Interesting that a 3 year old game has a look that far exceeds most newer ones. Love Star Wars? Play it for the fun. You can thank me later.

A pretty good start overall. I like the story and definitely feel it could be the
beginning of a Star Wars novel (with a bit more adult content). Great renders. Mediocre animations. Ultimately I was left unsatisfied, though it did deliver ~3 hours of gameplay as described. I consider it complete in the sense that a pilot episode is complete. I kinda wish I'd found it later in life when there were more episodes to binge.

This is a love letter to the Star Wars universe with rich storytelling and deep characterization. What more can you want? Well, the same thing but more of it. Fingers crossed for possible new episodes!

This surpassed all of my expectations! A few minor issues with some dialogue, but otherwise, this was everything I could have hoped for! Thank you! It actually made me want to dive back in to KOTOR and KOTORII and replay them, maybe even some SWTOR, lol! Also, I don't know if it's just an issue with my game, but there seems to be no music. It isn't a huge problem though, since I just put on some Star Wars music in Spotify in the background while playing.

For fans of Mortzeart only the name should be enough.

The game has so much detail to characters, their stories, feelings, environment, the world, it is just so much more than a sex game, indeed it is a AAA story with AAA graphics, with sex in it, it is the erotica for the games at its finest. Gorgeous renders, gripping very intriguing story, multiple choices to make (more so as episodes come).This is a game in its own league.

Early when this game was released I jokingly said in this thread, "still a better story than tar Wars IX". Now having actually played the game that line turned out to be spot on. This is one of those fanfics that's got more of the original magic than a vast array of the official material. Disney is Disney and will likely never throw us a gritty, sexy SW movie/series so there's a major void that The Warrior's Heart is filling here.





Tlaero & Mortze titles were always way above the average in story, with The Warrior's Heart they've also upgraded the visual to current standards, coupled with a genuine Star Wars look.

I'm a huge fan of SW....This is new .. I am totally grabbed with this novel .. very well done , and hope to see more episodes of this beauty ..Thanks for it ..

Very very well done! I love the premise! The art is incredible as well. Love how realistic everything is. Glad every single character isn't walking around with massive bazongas. I found all the story arcs to be very believable, and I can tell this is all building up to some big stuff.

Firstly what this game does not have: it does not have tonnes of choice, it does not have meaningless sex thrown at you.

This game is the best example of world building I've seen (from a porn game). We all know many games have attempted to set up a fictional universe, many in space as well, this is probably the only one that strikes the balance where you care about the sex, the characters, and the universe all in one. It starts small scale with the writing so you're quick to grasp it, but leaveslittle hints at a larger universe. There is a short term thrust (one last job) which is simple to understand, but also looming longer term plotlines that are more complicated; this is how to perfectly set up a fictional universe. You won't even realize you're learning about it as you're playing which is as it should be.

The still renders are the best there is (the animations are..ok or good). The biggest thing for me is attention to detail. Every turn in a conversation will have a reaction from a character, maybe even a tempting render or small Star Wars sound effect thrown in. Again this is a game that is constantly rewarding you for paying attention.

This VN is supremely crafted with beautiful 3D renders and an immersive story that truly captivated me in the Star Wars universe. A masterpiece o fa game, I will support you fully and will wait for chapter 2 with big hopes and expectation

I love the Art Style. Characters and Back ground look great. Especially the Twi'lek Crewmember looks like an actual Custom Model instead of a normal human with some stuff tacked on.

I really like the Story so far, as well as the Characters. I also really like that the MC isn't the big badass Jedi but that actually the girls are badass. The Jedi one of course but also the Freighter Pilot is great.

Very interested to see where this is going.

Great first outting for this new series! I enjoyed the time I spent with it very much. I'm a sucker for Star Wars and spend way too much time thinking about it and wishing there were more games out there to play haha.

The Characters are fun and pretty interesting. I believe I liked Drea or Kelio (not sure if thats how it is spelled) the most. I'm interested to see where the story goes since this episode was laying the ground work.

The renders and short animations were great. One thing I will say is that I wish there was some sort of background music. Even copyright free music would have been nice. This is a free game though and there really isn't much to complain about. I'll just end by saying I enjoy your work Mortze and this was a good start for the series.
