Valheim is like a gig
Rebel Galaxy is 4 gigs
Skyrim is 15 gigs
No Man's Sky is 18 gigs.
You're kidding yourself if you think this game has the content to justify its size
If it's bloated by eleventy trillion images thats a problem.
Those games sap time with repetitive procedural grind but actually has a tiny amount of story or unique content compared to VNs.

It is what it is. The dev already stated they are not changing not to mention the game is nearing the end of the main story. Wonder how many will follow to the devs next game just to gripe about how this dev never makes what they want.

After all these years and the game is not what you are looking for it will not magically change. The dev has there stile you do not like it whoop-de-do. I now people that would play this VN but not the vast majority as there is not enough changes in the images.

There are many games on here that with each update you have to download a GB+ yet every HD whether HDD or SDD has a limited amount of read write cycles. This game may be large but many others will lead you to having to buy a new HD sooner.

Without the compressed versions added by the site compressors so many games Here are true bloated messes. You may not like were the content, and size is, but at lasted it is by designee, not that the dev is using pngs to created a 10 GB game you will finish in less then 20 minutes that compressed is just a few hundred megabytes.

It is not an oversite, or a mistake, but a conscious choice by the dev if you do not lie it, it is not your type of game. Why stick around for a year+ to repeat your displeasure in the devs designee choices. I for one when a game heads in a direction I dislike move on. Your voice will have no impact on the devs decisions. They already said they have all but left the form. So you can keep going in circles stating your displeasure amounting to nothing or move on. They that like it, like it, they that don't, don't.

I for one have stated my opinion everyone knows where I stand, and as the dev is no longer here really I see no need checking this thread anymore. I know where I can get in contact with the dev, and or hear from him.

This game is still going? I remember when this game was actually good, some devs need to realize when it's enough. Also almost 30gb for a game like this, big yikes.

completely agree, the dev is spamming images that are basically useless except to bloat the size of the game. Needs a lesson I believe in comic strip art efficiency where you can convey sentiment and meaning in a few cells. The adage of an image is worth a 1000 words, does not apply to this game, each image here is basically a syllable.
Honestly it is NOT "big in content" - it's "just" "Big in repetition". 80% of all "new content" is just a basic plain copy of scenes before, but with changed text lines.
This "game" is, despite it's size, one of the most boring, repetitive and non-rewarding games since half of it's updates.
It started really promising, but soon grew out of ideas and more or less soley focussing on Mom and Sis. No real story, boring scenes, and therefore not at all justifying it's size.

I really don't know why some people even participate in this thread.

If you folks don't like the game, that's okay.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Why do you come out of the woodwork each and every month when we post our public release to just spit on the game?
Constructive criticism okay, but this?

I don't get it, and it's sad... just really, really sad.

And yet - SA is still here, being developed, after the primary creator disappeared, and supporters have every reason to believe that it will eventually get a completed tag.

It fills a niche that its supporters, like me, enjoy and are happy to support, regardless of how repetitive you feel it is.

It will never be all things to all people, nor should it be.

For those who do not like it, I've found no keyboard binding that is preventing you from leaving and going to other F95 threads and downloading their AVNs/enjoying them to your hearts content.

As to 'more or less' solely focusing on Sarah and Shannon - that's totally false since there are well developed stories for: Laura, Jane, Sidney, and Susie (all with their own diary pages); other more developed LIs don't have their own diary pages yet but those are coming.

Content is lagging for some of the other LI's but the dev is already making adjustments to spend more time on their development, per a poll that we took on Patreon/SS in the last few months.

This AVN takes place in the 'Sweet Affection' universe where there is room for all of these stories to be told.

If the stories don't have your interest for whatever reason, why stay?

I certainly don't spend my time on threads with AVNs that I dislike or find are boring/repetitive.

Cheers!! :coffee:

I really like this one. Yes, it's a bit wordy in some places but there are some sweet moments that you just don't get in other games/VN's that, I think, are worth waiting for. Like Laura's face lighting up when Gina actually speaks out loud to the MC for the first time in her presence.
It makes a change from the "slam bam thankyou ma'am" that we usually get.

At least for me, I like the premise of the game and I HOPE that the dev will improve their 'spamming' of image count for pointless reasons (number go up) opposed to actually producing good content. So am not 'spitting' on the game but am conveying my opinion that the dev needs help to actually /improve/ their skillset and thus improve the game.

Say what you want about the quality of the game, but at least this dev is working on his stuff and giving us updates that come out every month or so. So many devs milk the hell out of there games and give little to no content after 1 or 2 years of waiting. This is how it should be. Not bs too many devs do to get money for doing close to nothing.

I 100% agree.
Some people simply can't understand that people have different tastes.

That just because a game is not to someone's taste, that it doesn't make for a bad game.
Me for example, I don't like fighting or shooter games.
Doesn't mean that I have to rate every Call of Duty with a 1 or Tekken with a 2.

No, I accept that those type of games are simply not for me and I move on to something that I might enjoy a bit more.
Rating something a 1 or bashing on a game simply because it's not for you is the same as a child throwing a tantrum when
something doesn't go their way.

A while ago I went through some profiles of the people reviewing Sweet Affection.
- Like, there are reviews from people that love Corruption games on here the most and then bash Sweet Affection because it's too sweet...
- There are people that went on other thread stating that they like Adult Games because of the porn, that they are not interested in any build up... that they just want the good stuff.
And then bash Sweet Affection because it a slow burner.
- You have those that call me a milker while they are supporting developers that produce 1 update every 12 months (if you are lucky).

People should do whatever they want to do.
If you like NTR, have fun somewhere else. :)
If you like Corruption, have fun somewhere else. :)
If you like Romance and slow burners? Welcome. :)

I said this a while ago.
This websites suffers from a very toxic combination.
You have
- The usual toxic social media kind of people that you see on Reddit, Facebook, Twitter.
The people that think their opinion is fact and everyone else is wrong.
And you have
- Hormones + Frustration.
People (Kids) come here to get a quick fix and get frustrated when it doesn't happen, or happy when it does happen.

When those 2 combine you end up with you see a lot on this website.
People spewing nonsense, gamethreads being bombarded by unfair reviews (Positive or Negative).
And at this stage, you can't even blame the staff/mods anymore.
7.7 million members with about 15 staff/mods. (I first came here when it was about 100.000 people, damn...)
The site has become too big for them to control properly.
The only reason why we as a team are still here is because of the kind people on here. (You know who you are. :) )

At this stag though , I wish they would give us developers a little bit more control.
Either to choose to lock the review section down, and/or to "Mod" their thread themself and delete nonsense messages.
(With abuse of that power, those privileges would be removed.)

I already said this to BloodyFace
The month away from this website really helped me in terms of my mood.
The week that I've been back, my headache already has come back. :p

As last words because this post is turning out way too long. (Which will unfortunately mean nothing to some people.)
Live and let live, People.
Dude don't listen to the haters. I made a fantastic game so far and you are one of the most ethical devs I know. Too many devs try to milk long lasting games and lose interest in it over time.
Thank you for your hard work and dedication

Could it be that you just downloaded an "Update Patch" instead?
That's the only thing I can think of right now.

The dev has been part of the team creating this AVN for > 4 years.

The tone/style of this AVN was created/led by the team lead who disappeared years ago with literally no warning.

The team that remained, led by JD, fought to keep this AVN alive, explain what happened - as best as he could in the circumstances, and then continued to develop this AVN along the same path as it had been, all while trying to rebuild support.

They honored the team vision and continued to tell this sweet story, so unlike much of what is on F95.

If there is anyone here who is a $ supporter, it is because they like this AVN for what it is - a story about a very innocent MC and his slow and careful romance of a chosen LI (or in the case of the primary story, of Sarah and Shannon).

It is a story full of doubts and insecurities, concern about consent and the desire to find love, all by an MC who does not have a magic cock or the skills of a super spy.

For those like you who appear so late to the party, spamming your 'helpful observations TM' - you just don't get it, and I don't expect you ever will.

Those of us who enjoy this AVN will continue to support the dev as we have, looking forward to this journey and these stories reaching a satisfactory ending in due time.

When the time comes for the dev to create a new AVN - he and the team will choose the style, graphics and storytelling format.

Since you don't like this story in its existing format, why not wait for the next story to show up in F95 updates?

What you are taking on F95 is free - so it is not like you are actually losing something if you did not enjoy this AVN, right?

Cheers!! :coffee:

Exactly, I think they are doing a great job compare to so many teams here.

Basically none of that is applicable. First I am talking about the implementation of the game/dev's vision so the history and story is not contested at all. As for 'late to the party', at least for me that is not the case, I followed this more than 5 years ago under Boomatica back in 2018 under RPGM).

My comments are about HOW it's being implemented and portrayed which is (and has always been even back under Boomatica) the reason why I did not become a patron to this game (but have backed *many many* others).

So as mentioned I am just posting with the intent to give the devs some insight as to why they are NOT pulling more people in.

So your position is:

* Ignore the history
* Ignore why current supporters are here
* Recommend Very late AVN changes so that this AVN shifts to become more in line with what you want/Think will garner support without alienating current supporters who have been here supporting this AVN with $ for years when - as you said - you did not bother becoming a $ supporter during the 5 years you have apparently been following this AVN...

That is an interesting position... considering that you have nothing to lose, and the dev team does...

I will reiterate: Sweet Affection will never be all things to all people, nor should it be.

I think JD and his team are doing fine with SA and I have seen no call to arms from his $ supporters to make the changes you are describing/recommending at this very late date.

What project they will decide to take on, and how they will approach it, is a canvas will plenty of space for whatever story JD and his team decide to tell in an AVN format

The Sweet Affection canvas is full, with some finer details for the LIs and many LI path's finishing touches remaining to reach that canvas.

So - you have had your say - twice - and as a supporter, I have responded to your say twice. Shall we repeat variations of the same a third time and beyond or do we agree to disagree?

Cheers!! :coffee:

BloodyFace Don´t know if it was mentioned here or on the discord somewhere, but (in my game) there is still the bug in Lauras story that the event at 9AM is not possible to see, as her appartment is blocked (stating blocked till 8PM) so there is no way to achieve it (was in the upade 0.10.9) other than that, i love the evolving stories of the side characters and enjoyed the 0.10.11 Update very much as Jane is my favourite side character. Thanks for all the great work JD-NaughtyAtticGaming
