There are a ton of events and thousands of images.

With 0.7.1 the ability to download patches was introduced.
This means, you just have to download it once in full and patches after.

Alternatively, you can download the compressed version (Low Quality in OP), which is about 8 gigs smaller.

It got renamed to Sweet Affection.

I don't know, I think the game has a lot of content. For the amount of content it has right now I don't think the file size is that big. It is supposed to be a slow burn game, with a heavy focus on romance, and building the relationships between the characters. That is supposed to be the content of the game but people are just focusing on, if the game has penetration scenes or not and they just ignore all the rest.

A lot of content, but not progression. If progression was a line, then this would be a somewhat elongated asterisk... which is fine, but shouldn't require dozens of images to depict one emotion. Other games do hilariously much more with far less.

Although, I don't really mind the "slow burn;" just the slow everything else. And I'd recommend first checking out other games' file size;content ratio before saying anything about this one.

I think that there is great content progression - but it is not PornHub so no quick sex. There are literally hundreds of other VNs to choose from if you want to view something that gets to sex quicker.

This is simply not one of those VNs - and as a Patreon supporter, I'm perfectly happy that it is not.

This VN actually has character development and - yes - thousands of images which helps to tell the story since there is alot of the story that is enhanced via changes in facial expressions.

I understand that, as something many are taking for free here, they can find fault with: size of file/# of images/time of development etc, but as a Patreon, I can tell you that most of the Patreons are happy with what Boom and his team continue to deliver in SA/RIA.

I hope that you are able to find other VNs that are more to your liking.

it takes a lot of images to accomplish that.

But there can be quite a lot of difference how those images are created and stored. For example: You can stage and snap every single full-size image, which will lead to having to store tens of thousands of full-size image in storage. This is an appropriate method if you have very different images, and want to include a lot of detail and "character" in those.

You can also modularize your images: You save one image as a background per angle, and then you superimpose the character image over that. Depending on how small the changes are, you can may even just save the different facial expressions instead of having full-size images of every, well, image. This can save you a lot of space if you have a game where certain scenes repeat consistently and only have small changes between them, e.g. the sort of progression you see a lot of in SA.
You can of course superimpose small changes, like a character having or not having a tattoo or piercing. Hint, hint.

I only cared enough about one to support it, then dropped it after a loooong lack of updates. I wised up about sunk cost fallacy and from shelling out for an unfinished product. Also, not really interested in comparing p(atreon)p(een)s.

"Real" compressed version? The game is compressed down from 10gig.
There's already a significant quality loss.

Also, with update 0.7.1 patches were introduced.
All you need is the base game in its version 0.7.0 - After that you can download patches which will come in multiple variants.
