Honestly, I don't think there's even a proper way to like this plot anymore. The only way to tolerate this title is to extract all the erotic scenes (which, to be fair, are quite nice to watch) and hit CTRL + ALT + DELETE on the rest—because let’s be honest, it’s completely nonsensical. There's some reasons for that, for once canon fans looking for plot canon logic into this game, other fans came with so many theories and plotlines just to insert their own ideas/tastes into the main plot line and subplots.
The real problem that many people can't or don't want to see, this game is just long in length with a slow development, which again mess how people perceive it's quality, but it does have a paper thin story, more or less like "wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle".
And this now will be more clear as we get close to the end, Fujino can't do a elaborate ending because there's not enough "meat" in the main plot to justify such payoff at least not one that will make any sense, so no redemption arc, no revenge, no reverse NTR no great plot twist to anyone, it will be only Kirito getting cucked in one way or another and probably not only by Asuna.
The plot so far has been more or less like this, Inoda came up with a idea, Asuna denies at first, next update the idea turn into a scene, rinse and repeat, the secondary characters keep running in circles without any real progress and Kirito is just how we go from scene A to scene B Etc..
So the best way to enjoy this game now has been the same for a long time, low expectations and just go for the ride
We both know the story isn’t going to improve, and we’re likely heading toward a disappointing premature climax. And to be fair, it’s not entirely Fujino’s fault. He’s always followed the same predictable formula. His real mistake was dragging out fake suspense that never paid off. What we got instead is an endless loop of recycled scenes and weak justifications for things that never made sense in the first place.
Adding in the Rewrite Memory plot twist just made things even worse—it reminded me of the manga 100-kai Chouji, which also uses memory rewrites to justify the heroine forgetting past sexual encounters and essentially resetting her relationship with the MC. It creates this illusion of “starting over,” while all the emotional damage and corruption remain under the surface. That kind of narrative trick doesn’t deepen the story—it just masks consequences and makes everything feel hollow.
Thing is, with the sheer amount of solid NTR games coming out lately, it's getting harder not to criticize the flaws in this one. And in Fujino's case, it’s even more frustrating, because this isn’t even original content—he had all the source material already. You’d think writing a basic NTR storyline would be simple when everything is already in place. But apparently, writing NTR isn’t really Fujino’s strong suit. He’s decent at creating punchy KK characters and crafting solid visual setups, but beyond that? He really needs to take a step back and rethink his direction.
Because let’s be real—this whole "milking Part 1 forever" approach feels like he was just trying to shake the bottle for a few more drops of cash. But shake it too hard, and it explodes right in your face. Now Fujino’s standing there with a bukkake of his own mess, trying to clean it up and make it look presentable—and that’s exactly where we’re at now.
