But instead we have to deal with a dick. And realization of that happens quite late after the choosing scene to roll everything back.

As I mentioned before, this is future sci-fi, so real life only applies so far. But only about 4-13% of real life trans people get genital reassignment surgery, even if they've transitioned in other ways such as hormone treatment, top surgery, etc.

I can understand though if you weren't aware of this, or expected that in the setting Raene would be more likely to take that step.

Yes, it is sci-fi, but, as always, sci-fi is defined by who write it. So, if Perv want Raene to be a trans, she will be, if he want her to be a women, she will be, if he want her to be a 100 tentacle dick alien, she will be, if...
So, regardless of the setting, devs word is what shape (t)his world.
I do more think this is a problem with advertising. Here on the site, we have the trans/futa tag until the tag system overhaul that doesn't help. Even under genre trans isn't written as an individual tag, but in combination with futa. Also on his site they is only listed the futa tag as tag.

Perverteer it would be better, if you listed both tags (trans, futa) as individual tag to make clear that the game have both content.

As I said, I like this game in general, though in my opinion it is somehow not as good as the Dev's previous game (except for the graphical part). Something is missing in this one, some subtle feeling, some drive, some charisma. Technically it is much more advanced, but still feels a bit artificial.

I disagree.

Sisterly Lust is THE cookie cutter incest game.
Long lost son reunites with his family and fucks them all. Heck SL didn't even have a proper story. It was slice of life.

Now Tales is a completely different beast.

It HAS a story. An interesting one at that. The MC is way better. The LIs are better. The sisters are hotter. The mom is hotter. Heck I even like the OST.
I want to actually know where the story is going. Who is the confessor? What's up with the prophecy. And so on....

SL has none of that.
And don't get me wrong. I like SL.

Tales from the Unending Void is the superior game in every way.

Heck SL didn't even have a proper story. It was slice of life.

Yet somehow the characters there seem much more alive. And the sex scenes there are among the best written in any AVN. Very variable, passionate and detailed. Here they seem to be more repeatable and mechanical.

But anyway, may be that is just my impression. You know, out feelings depend on a lot of the things, the time of the year, the chemistry of our body, the novelty of an experience etc.

As you pointed out, this is a fantasy. An alternate timeline, future sci-fi story, which could introduce a ton of possibilities, all of which are set by what the author decides is true.
While that does mean that there have been advancements in medical science, and that you have access to the tech and knowledge of more advanced species, societies, and cultures, there are a few other things to consider.

• The first, and easiest, is that it simply may not have happened yet. Might simply be that it will be a story element later.
• There could be something physiological that prevents that final step for Raene's species.
• For the first time in her life she feels accepted for who she is, so she may not feel the need to take additional action.
• At some later time there may even be a discussion with the MC where he tells her she's fine the way she is and doesn't need to change.

Regardless of what the reasoning is, there are two truths:
- Whether anything with Raene's physicality changes any further is entirely up to the dev.
- Each person reading the story needs to decide for themselves if their love for Raene is contingent on what's between her legs.
Once you figure that out, you can determine whether or not Raene is for you. It was clear from the moment that Raene's secret was revealed who she is, and there was an opportunity to continue or end things with her.
If you regret the choice you made, there are a few options. You can use a mod like URM to change your selection. Alternatively, it's as easy as starting over to change your mind. There are even ways to easily skip through the content back to where you are now with your new choices.

Personally, I look forward to seeing what comes next for all the characters. I'm enjoying the full harem, and eagerly anticipate what the author has for us in the future of this great visual novel; which I think is even better than their last.

I mean it is pretty simple, hopefully you can decide whether your obsession or phobia is stronger, dropping the game is objectively the worse option. I think it's one of the most fantastic VNs I played, definitely in my top 5 ever, but I guess everyone has theor own opinion.
From these comment sections I realize how difficult it must be to try to cater to everyone, or most people... I'd hate to live in a world so bland that everyone likes everything.

No dev should EVER try to cater to everyone, that would become impossible very quickly. They should just make the VN they want and then people can play it or not.

I actually like the romantic idea that ideally one can find happiness without invasive surgery, and I don't think that one can fully become a biological woman anyway. At the same time, I wouldn't be turned on by someone that looks like a man. Pretty chick with a dick? Ehh, why not, can still be attractive. I guess we all have our boundaries somewhere else, both in fantasy and in reality.

Genius , by introducing futa / trans characters the Dev IS trying to cater to everyone (or at least target those players who enjoy that kind of content). In their previous game (which I believe was a work of passion) there were no futa / trans. This new game looks much more like a commercial project then the previous one.

If you take SL, as written before, it is incest only. Story almost nothing, even adding a "magical" country/island where you can marry multiple womens including your mother and sisters.
This one have better graphic, sound and animation, but it has a story that might not be for everyone. If the dev really wanted to try to make a cash cow, then it would be a simple harem game, where the whole plot would be "do you wanna fuck?".

Also, last but not least, it is fully optional, so as long as that is given, the dev can add whatever he want and I don't care - and even if I care, dev should do what he want.
