That being said, for example, if a game is advertised as NTR focused from the get go, then that's fine and I just won't play it. Not my cup of tea. Game like My Bimbo Dream decided to add a non-NTR path to the game, which I appreciate, but I can see why NTR lovers might be upset that development time would presumably be diverted for non-NTR paths for a game that seems to have been advertised as NTR focused from the beginning.
That's what I was trying to convey. NTR-oriented, there are similar things like swing/sharring, I will understand them, but there are times when tags are introduced in vanilla games, which then make some fans wonder if there will be enough time for their favorite path/Li/scenes...

These are the usual things that we are already used to seeing from anti-ntr vs ntr fans. the other side complains about why NTR is there, and other sides, having seen the scene besides MC, will demand something similar*but there are such fans in a couple of netori/harem style games where they crave ntr* Theoretically, I can understand some of the complaints, if it's not something like whining.

P.s Nadira answered quite logically

You aren't the MC and it's like watching a movie. They might like some characters but there is no real attachment.

That's why some people can't stand things that are optional. It taints the memory of the girls they like, because they've formed an emotional bond with them.

Is it wise to form that bond? Maybe not, but one might argue that that's just the outcome of good story telling. It's also the difference between a porn game and a visual novel.

I'm seeing that. And as this particular complaint isn't one of the ones I become insufferably whiny about, I can shake my head and pretend like I'm above such things ;)
Look... it's very simple... do you self-insert or not.

If yes then you wouldn't want to see or even think about the girls you like doing things you don't like.

Those people become very attached to those girls and the thought of them "cheating" on them gives them the same feeling as if their IRL girlfriend would cheat on them. That's nothing most people like to experience IRL.

If no, you play as observer.

Just my two cents...

None of this counters the fact that there is a narrative problem -- the imbalanced development of plot lines. Without commenting on the theory that UI spacing should inform the # of LIs a game should have, I'll just note that this would only become more pronounced as new LIs are introduced, as the older ones -- having already reached their logical / emotional conclusions -- become stale and stagnant by comparison.
Yes, new LIs / returning side characters might serve to bridge the emotional gap while we wrap up the grander political & family conflict, but it comes at the cost of diluting emotional weight of already-established, core characters.

Something else is needed to keep the dynamics of the original crew fresh and engaging.
It depends how you view the relationships.

As far as i'm concerned they have only just started and they only recently began to accept the harem narrative. There is still a long way to go for all of them to establish their place in that harem.

That only goes for the women on the Bastard. We're going to have all the other women the MC has fucked coming back into the story now, some of those will also be joining the harem.

Even then it depends on how important the sex side of things are to a persons enjoyment of the game.

Regardless, none of the relationships have reached any sort of conclusion. Not even close.

Perverteer I also had rollback disabled in random places, only Aven and Lilly show up with the extra Eva mentioned in one of the lines as pointed out above. Everyone in my game is a LI and in the harem, even forgave Ves.

I have questions about the major choices section that summarizes the game so far. Nothing is listed for the current bit of game but Lilly's state is listed in the last chapter when it hadn't been revealed yet and nothing about Aven or Nadia's announcements that happened this chapter. Plus, not a major choice, but what Cam did for Eva seems like it should have made some kind of summary.

And on another topic completely and not directed at Perverteer, really, your MC can have all the women he ever meets but his sisters can't enjoy each other too? Or the ones with dicks have to not use part of their bodies for sexual gratification because it gets hard too?

My Cam is a product of his time, not ours here and now, he gives head and takes it in the ass as any good considerate lover would to make his partner at the time feel good. For fucks sake, it's a game, get over it. The dev gives you ample opportunities to avoid any content you don't like including more choices in the current update about who and where dicks can go.

Relationships never conclude until they end.

So, I loaded my save from S1 and was playing Episode 13. I noticed that the relationship menu is not visible for some reason. I have kept relationships as Show in my Preferences menu.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Happens when I load my save from S1. If I click Ignore, I am to able the play the game. But, I am no longer able to see the relationships menu.
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.

Edit: It looks like the S1 0.12.9 Extras edition is not compatible with S2. I played the Standard edition and was able to load the save file without any problems.

Also, the option to start a new game in S2 doesn't work properly. I click "I am in a relationship with Vess" in the choices menu but for some reason when I meet her in the prison in Episode 13, the love option is not available. The "I love you too" option is not there, and instead it shows the "Make her slave/submissive" option. I checked the reason for this in the choices column. It looks like the game automatically assumes that I rejected her completely in S1, Episode 12.

"that's just the outcome of good story telling" - 100% indeed.

Personally, at its core, out of many things that attributes to "Becoming attached to a character", one could be is simply proof of good writing.

When becoming attached to something fictional, everyone's going to subconsciously decide where and how to fill in the unspoken elements with their own different fictional creations.

When the mind's presented with a hint that the fictional source may alter someone's personal version of the fiction, I think the first thought/emotion that's expressed could be summed up as "Defense". The thing about a big variety of games/vn (that I've seen), are that they're not a "Fictional Story", they're "Multiple fictional stories" in one tidy package/download/file.

If the game is otherwise enjoyable, and the content you don't like is completely avoidable, I'd hope you wouldn't let it ruin your enjoyment.

I'm thinking, but I don't believe there are any tags that would make me drop a game if the tags were avoidable. But maybe I just haven't encountered the right (or wrong) tag? If certain tags are unavoidable, then yeah, I may bail on a game
I agree, I'm in favour of different tags/content for different tastes so I know there will be certain content I don't like but others will and vice versa. For me to play the perfect game for myself, I would need to create it myself and that would ruin the magic for me.

But for the tags/content I find outright wrong, I think they are mainly concentrated in games dedicated to them because I don't usually find them inside the games I enjoy, but I see them listed when I'm checking new games where even the name alone is clear enough about its focus.

This is one of the few games I play which contain content I consider wrong but, since it's opt-in, I can put up with it, like "male organ on male" content or coercion against innocent women (or people in general, for that matter). Another one is Fetish Locator, where you can granularly opt in to all kinks because you are asked if you like them before they are displayed.
