If you have Trudy as a follower you can send her to fight in a werewolf encounter. She will lose and after that, you can collect the "spoils". Either that or let the werewolf fuck you.

Open your save and find the cursed item. It should be with a list of other equipped items. You should see something saying "cursed": true. Simply change it to false and you can take it off and put it on at will.

You can try putting the old save in the new toa-data folder. Make sure to delete the empty save file your replacing.
