They would become one dimension characters which they aren't because they are so full of life, have you ever intoxicated a beast master and watch the cat do her? Satisfied a centaur and got a bow? Caught a gobbling and spanked it so hard it came? This is the epitome of life creativity and erotica I ever saw in a game, and how it is integrated in skills checks and the battle itself deserves the biggest reward I can give, it you don't allow it to the stronger monster you are taking the life out of then, as almost as killing them or depriving them from existing in such a wonderful setting and cast this game has
I wouldn't call it the epitome. There are many porn games out there, and some did the interactive and immersive part better. There are games where you can grow dick and boobs and change the scenes you see entirely, or you get tickled to the point of pass out until you pass the check to get out of the grip.
ToA's particularly strong point is it has encounters written more thoroughly than average visual novel would hope. Both in the amount of text and amount of unique situations (tags). It also has a lot of nice pictures accompanying the story, though it probably could have more of them by this point. It also is about futas, which is not uncommon nowadays, but less explored than other genres.
You think that winning should mean topping the enemy, but this game is for trap and futa lovers, meaning most of the audience wouldn't even want that. Hiro has a certain character - naive, pure, a bit feminine. Giving him the opportunity to act masculine will ruin that for the majority of the audience.
Though right now Majalis are planning the new main character, and this character named Evoker is pretty lewd from the start and has sex basically to survive, using semen instead of food. I don't know how can you make a whole new character work for a game that has 50+ characters written from Hiro's POV already... But this new mode should probably have more sex you force on people, instead of them forcing it on you.
Right now winning in the battles rewards you with experience, and you need all the experience you can aquire to beat the final boss. That is motivating enough, and it gives you the sweet feeling of hard making a hard choice between two goods — experience for winning that you want to make your life easier, or giving in and seeing Hiro get wrecked in various ways. It makes you ponder what characters you like more (right now at least) so you only let them use you.
I agree that there are things to work on mechanically. The game has a whole lot of sex perks and Purity/Dignity count — that barely matter outside of scarce encounters. They almost never give you the unique content, for example only times blowjob skill meant something are satisfying two harpies once and giving better service to Brings in a cottage. If you could, like, give heavenly blowjobs to people and see them melt and lose their shit, that would be cool. And if you could pound some character, but only if you you had Dignity rank 7+, for example, and taking that action would reward you with, idk, a long scene and a ticket to some cool small unique thematic location? That could make you actually immersed into managing your dignity. Not the way it works right now, when you get small GO by DK for having 0 dignity, or you must marry Lupa with 0 dignity which can be done without it easily.
