I may be reading way too much into it, but I like the "implied" pacing. You don't start out as a whore who's had trains run on her and the horde invasion (if that's still a thing this version) isn't like falling back into old routines. There's a better pace to the element of corruption if you will. Of course, having reworked all the actual sex out of the game means it feels a little bluebally. But I'm excited to check back in for the next updates.

I have a staff, and the elf says I can pass, but I can't. everyone is talking about some kind of orc invasions and so on, but I have written that this is the end for now, sorry. there are only 4 scenes in the game? and why not all the photos are open, she is the only one. am I on the wrong version? or did I do something wrong? please help me!!!
Get the jar from the bar, go to the market stand and get the spider with the jar. Then take the spider to the couple.
She said she wanted to rework the game, probably learned some new programming stuff that couldn't be fixed with what she already had made

I, too, am glad to see an update. The changes are good and welcome. I am just worried that, with the pace of this project, it'll be another year before it's back to where it was.

Nah you're fine don't worry, I reported the new version you posted so that's why the thread got updated, thank you much. I just mean to say that the abandoned system is just automatic, there's no malice to it, and it's like this way because when a game has no update for 1-2 years, 90%+ of the time it's because it is actually abandoned, just this game is one of the few exceptions.
Of course it's not the same, you're taking completely unrelated examples and saying that them existing somehow handwaves entirely different issues with this game's development. And you're still stuck on the mentality that something can't be bad because something else is worse, they can just both be bad.
None of it changes how scummy the monetization practice is or how outrageous the development pacing is for what's being provided in each update. Rework or not, this is not what a 3 year old game looks like, it fell off the rails in its first year and only got worse with time.

The new version has a pretty nice little upgrade to the art, even if it's very basic and more of the same from the original with far less content.
I feel like the overall presentation of the sex scenes kinda sucks, though. If you masturbate because of the purple mushrooms, there's just a lot of stuff in the foreground that's very distracting, though it's not as bad in the forest next to the guard/archer chick. The lesbian scene is (sadly) worse, not only is there stuff in the foreground but you have to move leaves out of the way to actually see it and even then it's still slightly obscured by the environment. The witch's masturbation scene doesn't have the issue of obscuring foreground/environment elements, but it's still awkward because she's just kind of doing it in an x-ray void inside a tent. Really, the only scene that isn't framed horribly is the barmaid/goblin(s) scene but... I don't like ugly-ass goblins in porn, so the best-looking scene on a technical level is also the one I want to see the least.

So excited for this rework. It's a beautiful unique art style with amazing scenes and a cutesy puzzle-solving gamification. Cella has come a long way.

If patreon is a 'open bag' with no entitlements or expectations, it's simply donating to an artist and supporting them in their endeavors - why would these examples be scams?

Those kinds of "updates" shouldn't be allowed. It's even worse since the version with more content gets removed, and then the devs add said content again, unchanged, back into the game slowly to milk their Patreons.

The difference lies in the context.
This game has no set schedule from what I can see, and no excuses or promises have been made.
When a delay happens, it is plainly stated, and the payments are paused.
Geseeki and the LoK team made countless, progressively more abstract excuses and in the case of the latter one even took to this forum to complain about his Filipino girlfriend (whom he went to visit using Patreon money, they had lots of Patreon-funded vacations which is fine but they lied about having them) cucking him and turning into a MRA/MGTOW person because of it. They made promises they failed to execute on, made several excuses after, restarted the game to get a fresh start because it was too hard to work on, figured out making a 3D game with costume damage, combat, exploration, dynamic quests, high detail animation is harder than a simple dialogue-driven one, and then went back to the old engine but now in a non-working state. Along with the smug superiority the original thread had from someone who allegedly "worked at EA" and "knew better" it piles up.
I haven't been following this game as much as I followed either of those but the circumstances seem to be very different.
Those two feel like scams because the pretty obvious lies get irritating, with this game I just see "yep, here's a delay, payments paused." The dev is just doing what they can, when they can, and showing transparency while also replacing stuff (which is far easier than making new assets) as their style improves. If there's info out there I'm not privy to that's a whole other can of worms and I can't rule that out. So far, though, seems like the open bag is fine here. I wouldn't give money to a bag that lied to me and blamed me for their faults.

If the game is being reworked from the ground up because the dev learned new techniques taking out existing content to put it back in makes sense. You can still download the previous version with all the content left in it.
