You didn't offend me, I just thought your post was undeservedly critical of men in general. I am sure there are plenty of men who take care of themselves and plenty who do not. And plenty of both types of women, too. Beauty standards may require more preening and primping for women, so in that sense, they generally spend more time on their appearance. Whether that is men's fault or women's fault is a deep sociological question. It probably has to do with evolutionary biology where women judge men by their status first before their physical perfection, because high-status men could support the family and ensure the survival of the children better actively, than good genes ensured the children's survival passively. Men judge women based more on looks because the genetic health of their offspring is important and men (in the cave man era) did not rely on women to support the family. So for women, picking men based on high status was #1 criteria, for men, looks were the primary consideration. That's all hard-wired in. As for women being more beautiful, I would echo Deem's statement that there is no argument from me on that point.
