The problem with trying to leave Patreon is that the userbase (aka where deem gets his money from) is unlikely to move with him. It's almost a trap at this point because you can't leave without losing out on money. I know we're all pirates here and whatnot but this is a real concern for the developers and it's super shitty to see this happen. The only way I can think of is if Irredeemable made a completely clean version of the game and some super cool new user on this site (maybe some guy with the username Redeemed) sent out a mod that adds a bunch of sexy content to this totally clean game we all like to play for some reason even though all you do is go to work and go home.

If it comes to it. The best he can do is try to do a slow migration to another service.
Try to keep it hush hush. Make the first month or two $1 pledges for everyone, so the people at the highest tier doesn't feel fucked over and the people on the lower tier would have some incentive to join the bandwagon.
That way he might be able to get most of his pledges to migrate with minimal damage to his income.
Worst case scenario is Patreon finds out and puts the brakes on him immediately and he's kinda fucked if he hasn't spread word enough where his project is moving to.

Honestly it's really easy for me to say since it's not my livelihood on the line though. It must be a really hard thing to deal with for all them atm.

@stevenrith I was more referring to the fact as Jande said it lists many alt right personalities/groups as part of the "featured creators". I wasn't saying hatreon itself was an alt-right website (hence the tangentially). Many ppl/things are judged by the company they keep, so potential patrons would likely look at the website, see the alt-right stuff and not want to be remotely associated with it.

As I see it, Patreon in fact wants to ban adult content (or at least adult games), but they can't openly- just in case someone wants to sue them - so they're creating "rules" to prevent creating any adult content.

Hatreon was specifically opened to give voice to radical right-wing voices that were banned elsewhere, with the CEO of Hatreon saying he does not necessarily object to anyone calling his site an “alt-right version of Patreon”. Do I think everyone on the site is a terrible person? No, but when the majority of the creators are openly Alt-Right I'm less likely to support anyone on that site.

Oh Jack is more progressive left so he is pretty far to the left but he lives in San Francisco so it's normal there. Switching gears, one thing that occurs to me in my sleepy haze is that programs written in Ren'Py are unavoidably very easy to modify. Literally anyone could unpack the files, rewrite the game in any manner they see fit and there's absolutely nothing I can do to prevent it. Heck, maybe someone already has, it's a big internet.

Literally fucking Stormfront is one of their top revenue makers there, that is all you really need to know, ain't nothing "ironic" about those guys.

But yeah deem, my personal advice would be definitely get alternatives ready, but don't just bail out on patreon until you absolutely have to. Because you're obviously gonna lose a chunk of your income from the switch, so frankly I'd get shit ready to go just in case, but stay on patreon until you absolutely can't any more due to being banned or them just straight refusing to give you your earnings and then move but not a second sooner.

Gotta get that cash as long as you can you know that.
