I used to play this game back when it was in alpha, and now that I came back, way later, wow it has changed a lot, for better or worse.
Honestly the roguelike gameplay is meh, the game was def better when it was more open world and let you explore and build your monster empire at your own pace, it felt like building an actual empire. Now it just feels rushed, boring and bland.
smth like this would've been better as an optional minigame or an separate mode you can access from the map and play for top tier rewards. I can see myself enjoying a single run of this slay the spire style every once in a while, but the fact that its the only gameplay now and I gotta do it over and over again just makes it not be fun at one point.
Only positive change I noticed is that you can give hearts to monsters even after they get out into the battlefield.
But Im not here to give a review, I just wanna ask a few things-
1) Are there any monsters that were introduced in the Beta but were not present in the Alpha?
2) What are major differences (besides the game shifting its gameplay style entirely) between the beta and alpha, especially concerning combat? Any features added or removed?
3) What is the latest version, of the game that had the older, open world exploration gameplay? Where can I find that version?
I was thinking of playing an older version that had the original gameplay instead of this new style, thats why I am asking these questions.
