Technically, yes . It is a very crude method at the moment. But I will be polishing it in the future when I take a harder look at items and events in future updates.

There's a bug with the legendary items that I fixed today. It might be impossible to get into the tomb because of the bug, I'm not sure.

It would appear that according to F95Zone, The Monastery violates their terms due to no sexual or lewd content. So it will likely be removed. I'll continue publishing updates on Itch and Patreon.

I mean, it's literally a piece of your larger game, right? There's no reason for it to be excluded. For all intents and purposes, you're just spending your time updating the part of the game that doesn't have any sexual content. At this point I think even they're confused by the name change.

I see your point. I will ask the mod about this. Having no experience, I probably don't know the best method for alleviating confusion.

I definitely want The Monastery to be self contained. The player can play it on its own without any context and still get a full experience. But it is also an isolated portion of the main project. So I suppose I can see it either way.

I mean, the fact that they're both in the same thread should resolve any potential issues. It would be one thing if you had a separate thread for each of them, but this is a thread for the Archmage, and then you also have a link that says "this is the prologue portion of the game, which hasn't been integrated into the main game yet, but is a part of the same game." For the purposes of this thread about The Archmage, you simply have two separate downloads for the incomplete portions of the project.

Edit: Actually, did you have a separate thread for each of them? If the reason you brought this up is because you made a thread for the standalone The Monastery and that got taken down, then I think the actual issue has already been resolved and this thread should be safe.

No, the mod actually suggested a separate thread to resolve the issue. I was told each thread gets only one game unless it is a connection thread, so this one can't have two.

Huh. Well yeah, the fact that they're the same game and are just being kept separate during development so it's easier to release one as standalone later should negate that issue. It wouldn't be the first time a single thread has had multiple downloads for different chapters/episodes of the game, like this one. And that one doesn't even plan on merging the chapters.

Right now, all of the femdom is a result of playing as a female MC. No femdom directed towards MC yet.

I suppose I will try including it in the game files...? Maybe that's not worth it before completion. I will have to do the integration work early and that will be a lot of effort for no reason.

This is especially frustrating since they also recently disabled the tag watching feature and may or may not ever re-enable it, so this is just the latest in the string of things that make it harder for me to keep track of stuff. Well, it should still be safe to make a post in the thread about how the latest version is up on itch.io, right? At the very least, that's important information regarding how soon the next update to The Archmage will come out, and (I assume?) what gameplay features it will have. And it won't have the game appear in the "Latest Updates" list which is apparently the only part of this site that some people think matters.

To be entirely fair, a game can easily have "no sexual content" and still be "NSFW". I mean, half of the games in that list even have "hentai" in their names. I'm not sure where the line is drawn on that tag but it can definitely include games with naked people and kissing, possibly even people getting handsy. Just as long as nobody sticks a dick in anybody (or sticks a tongue in a hole that doesn't already have a tongue in it).

Point taken (hyperbole notwithstanding), but it still seems perfunctory. TBH what really prompted me to post was all the whiny posts I've seen about no sexual content games, and the responses that this isn't exclusively an "adult game" forum. Granted the responses weren't from mods, but still...

Not to mention the fact it was posted here, alongside a related NSFW game. I can somewhat understand having a problem with it having its own dedicated thread, yet a mod suggested exactly that apparently. Linking it here though... what could possibly be the problem with that?

It sounds like the mod said they can't be separate games in the same thread, but then if they were split the SFW one would have to be removed. Though, again, that brings into question the other game I linked which had three episodes released in three different downloads. I doubt it's a coincidence that this issue came up right after the name changed from "The Archmage (SFW Demo)", which apparently wasn't a problem.
