I do want to say, it may have been a mistake to use what was previously created as the "prologue" and base for this sandbox/VN game. It's a bit sloppy and inconsistent the way it was handled. They basically decided to develop a new game from the ground up. I do enjoy these characters and I personally don't mind seeing them in this new format setting, but I feel if it had a completely different setting and not related to the previous project, I think not as many people would have been negative or confused or both, if it was a brand new "IP". If that makes sense.
Your Skyrim example is a bit unfair. That game is a triple A completed game with a ton of stuff to do, with or without mods. These amateur sandbox adult themed games are works in progress. Of course it isn't going to have massive content right out of the gate. But like I said before there are people who enjoy games for the sake of games. Also having an element to make real decisions isn't exclusive to VNs.
You're basically implying you have no clue why people like different things. Some people like VNs some people like games and some people like both. They are different things. You prefer your adult/porn themed content to be straight forward VNs. I love reading, I love reading VNs, but I also love playing games adult content or not.

i liked the original one better personally. i liked how you woke up not knowing who you were having to figure it out and slowly you begin to get some memories back like the how you and your "sister" fell in love. she was so happy when you got your memory back about telling her you loved her. this new flow just doesn't have the same feel to the game. perhaps if you removed the option of "have you played the prologue" i mean why put that in there when you've changed so much it's not worth even mentioning. heck maybe incorporate some of the old renders into an opening flashback type sequence and then proceed with the remake as it is now. yes the renders look good but um has anyone noticed in the school so far at least they have a ton of clones =0 i counted 3-4 of the same looking girl in the hallway alone. it's nice to have it "feel" more alive with more background characters but if it's too render intensive or expensive or whatnot just limit the characters. cuz really seeing all those same faces in one shot is just weird. or maybe make it so that the MC notices how there's a lot of same looking girls and wonder if it's a side effect of his powers or something to make light of it.
i will admit i laughed at the coffee shop lady and the glass eye. at first i thought it was going to say something like it was a bad render and the author couldn't afford the time to redo it so it was left in that way. but the glass eye bit works there =)
i do want to give it a chance but i'm attached to the original more at this point. will wait a few more updates to see how it goes
