Sooooo if there's broad consensus that the plot is meandering, models/renders are uninspired, and it's taken 3yrs dev to produce 1yr content, why is it still averaging 4.5+ stars? Seems out of whack.

Not sure what the launcher is all about, I just played the exe from the bin folder like a normal Ren'Py game.

Since this is no longer ren'py it is going in the trash. Too bad I really liked this one...

Has anyone come to a conclusion as to why dev decided to add a launcher of little utility/purpose? I haven't seen any new major features or anything that might call for it.

It's still a Ren'Py game, I have no clue why this version came with a launcher, but if you look inside the "bin" folder , you'll find the same set of folders as it was originally.
My guess would be a possible web version, or the ability to download new updates through the patcher only.
I have my PC crashing after a few minutes,
I put the contents of the bin file (everything that belongs to RenPy) into the previous version and it works

I dont know but my additional cooling fan came on so something extra was running.

If you enter the "bin" folder, the whole game is there. You're just looking at the "launcher" files.

It's not in RPGM, it's just the launcher files. The whole "game" folder is in the "bin" folder.
