I'm honestly surprised anyone expected more nudity or sex from that photo shoot. It was made clear in game when proposed that nudity would be optional, and up to the players discretion. Ivy never would have greenlit the idea otherwise. Did you guys really think the players would be down to bare it all for a publicly sold calendar? I figured 1 or 2 at most would do that. With a good possibility none would, and they'd mostly hide bits with strategically placed items or poses.

As far as sex goes it was a work event with Ivy, your new boss who doesn't like you much yet, and a good chunk of the team there. It would have been absurdly stupid for the MC to risk his job by fooling around with anyone at that shoot, aside from possibly Jasmine.

Sure, this is an AVN and some games would have thrown logic out the window to have it be a sex fest or make a lot of the players conveniently exhibitionists. But this game clearly is not going for that kind of atmosphere.

Even the scene with the 2 Japanese players was a bit too fast but one night stands do happen and they were leaving town so at least that is somewhat plausible. Those 2 were out of town, horny and looking to have a bit of vacation sex with a hot american guy.

We got a bit of eye candy out of the shoot, which is exactly in line with what I expected it to be.

It's pretty much what I expected too, maybe a few more nudes while girls were getting changed would have been nice, but that's about it.

I don't think anyone expected sex from the photoshoot, or at least I haven't seen anyone saying so.

But for an event that is supposed to be a nude calendar photoshoot, having expectation for nudity to be involved is very reasonable, that was the way the premise is presented by the game to the AVN players after all. Of course there is always a possibility that nobody would agree to go nude because it's optional, but having nobody going nude is the worst case scenario and that's what the dev chose to go with. IMO, it's only natural that people could be disappointed when the chosen option was the worst possible option.

However, my biggest disappointment about the scene is how sterile the whole thing is. Basically we can expect 2 different types of characters. The players who are comfortable with nudity, and the players who are not comfortable with nudity. The idea of nude/sexy calendar photoshoot is the opportunity to further develop these characters. Those who are comfortable could dial it up while those uncomfortable could use the shoot to overcome their discomfort. But what we got was a very sterile scene where it was mostly one-way instruction from Jasmine with most players not even having any line as if they were just going through the motion.

I'll use Lauren for example. She went for covered nudity shoot (presumably for her private-use shot? The game doesn't make it clear either or), but we only know that it was her idea and nothing else. IMO, such scene could be used to develop her character by having more dialogue involved. Similarly with Lotta where she took photo wearing the new jersey but without shorts. There was no acknowledgment that she was showing her butt other than "If it feels to naughty then you can just keep the photo for yourself" comment from Jasmine. We aren't learning anything new about any of these players. There is no development when IMO the scene would've been a great premise to develop some of these players and to break the ice when it comes to nudity with MC (i.e.: much more acceptable to be nude in front of MC during a nude calendar photoshoot than during day-to-day football training session).

I'm not sure it's exactly in line with what you expected it to be. You did say "I figured 1 or 2 at most would do that". Sounds to me like your expectation is 1 or 2 would go nude and that did not happen.

Ultimately though, I respect if you're satisfied with the calendar photoshoot scene. I just think it didn't come close to anywhere of what it could've been. Hence, being my biggest disappointment.

Actually, no the expectation was the players had the choice to go nude or not. And most people are not going to be okay with posing nude for a publicly sold photo shoot. We're not talking about a private shoot for personal use, or lounging around their private sauna nude.

They're professional football players, they don't have to overcome any shyness about being nude. Why would they? That's not part of their job description. They play sport for a living, they're not models or actors.

Of course it's sterile, it's a work event for their job in a professional photo studio. Bright lights in your face blinding you, and taking instructions from the photographer. Almost like the dev wanted it to be somewhat realistic, because that's how photo shoots are.

So you're complaining about one scene not having enough nudity for you, then you go on to point out all the times the MC has fun showing that this game indeed does have plenty of nudity and sexual content. Way to undermine your own point. The difference between all those instances you point out and the photo shoot should be very obvious but I'll spell it out for you. They were done in private. Their workplace is open to the players and staff, that's it. The photos from the shoot would be available to the public. There is a massive difference.

And I frankly don't give a shit about realism in these games, I read a lot of fantasy and sci-fi so suspension of disbelief is something that comes naturally to me. But characters acting in ways that don't make any logical sense isn't really a realism problem, it's just bad writing. And the dev seems to be trying to make the characters behave in ways that make sense for them instead of filling it with nonsense porn logic, though it clearly does include a bit of that since it is an AVN after all. I'm fine with fuckfest games filled with porn logic, but that's obviously not what this dev is shooting for in this game. They seem to be going for a balance of realistic behavior with a dash here and there of porn logic, instead of full on porn like some other games.

The players barely know the MC because it's only been a few weeks in game since the start. How well do you know your co-workers after only a few weeks? You might know a few fairly well at that point but definitely not all of them.

And no, a nude photo shoot is not a reasonable place for someone to suddenly decide out of nowhere "Lets get naked for this guy I barely know, maybe he'll want to start a relationship!" It'd make far more sense for them to get to know the MC one on one in personal moments than to put on a show in front of a photographer they don't know, their bosses and other teammates who might be around watching.

The calendar as a plot point isn't about nudity, it's about selling a calendar to raise money for the team using the players sex appeal, without requiring full nudity unless a player decided to do so. The MC even pitches it to them as tasteful nudes, nothing explicit when he brings up the idea. It's not till later on that Leah points out to the MC that some of the Matilda's calendar shots were fully nude, the MC wasn't aware of that when he pitched it. He hadn't seen the full Matilda's calendar.

None wanted to bare it all, and that's perfectly fine. They're still mostly pretty racy shots.

I don't hate exhibitionism, I actually really enjoy it both in game and irl. Since I dabble irl with it I have personal experience with getting women to go along with my kink, not many are willing without some serious convincing. Very few jump at the idea. It's putting yourself out there in ways that most people aren't comfortable with. Some are, but they're the exception, not the rule.

The bottom line is you seem to not get that there is a distinction between nudity and sexual encounters in private, and something sold publicly to the masses. They are monumentally different things. I was already quoting this as I was reading through previous pages, but now it seems to have moved in the other direction, so take it as a counter point to some people's disappointment with how the shoot turned out.

I have no idea why you feel so strongly about this, it's fine that you do, but I think you're directing that ire at the wrong place. These photoshoots and calendars are something that happen all the time, and it's fully consensual. It's not as if they're pimping out the girls for guys to come along and leer at or grope (or worse). It's something that happens in a safe environment.

And again, it's hardly going to ruin this game. Even if you don't like it, I fail to see how it would make the game suddenly "shit".

Its a very simple concept, outside of fringe fetish focused ones, most AVNs have always been and probably always be at their core 'dating simulators', the entire point is getting the girl(s) and riding into the sunset before the credits roll. Majority of people on the planet, will have a problem with their significant others/object of their affection selling their bodies.

Now, I haven't played the game, but since it seems that is a canon event where a large cast of romance options take part in it, possibly fan favorites that up to that point were mostly vanilla, I can see how that cheapens them for the players, especially ones. No amount of making fun of him, or pretending that we can't see where he is coming from will ever change that.
