I can only think of a couple, Big Brother and Summertime Saga. Summertime Saga is "cartoony" and a comedy. When I played it, I did not have the feeling at all that I was MC. It seems to me that Big Brother was originally being made when there were not so many games out there. I believe that if the game was being made to day, it would not do nearly as well as it has. It became a classic and other games have cashed in on the nostalgia for that game. Today there are more choices. If a game has content that a player does not like, they can just walk away. This game has been out about 6 months and has had two updates after the initial release. It has 49 patrons. That's not awful, but it's not great.

All the changes did was make the models look more detailed and realistic. It's an improvement. Especially the doctor. This is a good thing. They looked good, now they look great. Now they won't start to look so dated in a year or two.
