I shouldn't really need to be searching through a thread for information that should essentially be in the first post in the change-log. More detailed information on the update really should be within the change-log, as "6 new Isabel events (varies in length)" could literally mean anything. I'm sure you've also seen what some devs try to pass off as an update (far too few have decent sized updates and some are just pitiful).*facepalm* *sigh*
I apologize for assuming you could actually use the search function after suggesting you do that. It comes so naturally for so many of us what to search for when we know what we want to know. In your case, you wanted to know these things:
1. why the game took so long? will every update take that long and have only as much content?
2. what's new in this update?
So a simple search with the key word "update" should return you with plenty of information simply by glancing at the result. Then a search with the keyword "update" specifying posts by HopesGaming, which is the username of the dev should narrow it down even more to important posts about updates. Or a search specifying posts by HopesGaming without any keyword will give you a general idea about what's been going on since he's very active and friendly toward the fanbase. I just did just those simple searches, and all the important and core information, and pretty much everything you asked for are in the results.
As for your question about what's in this update. I did see it. I chose not to answer because, as stated above, the answers are pretty clear in the search results, as well as the fact that your question is so vague that a short answer will unlikely satisfy you while a long one will take forever to write, not to mention spoil everything. The changelog is probably the best answer anyone can give, and you've already made it clear you're dissatisfied with that.
P.S.: Funny you should say I should get off my high horse, because my attitude is usually a mirror reflection of the attitude gave off by the post I'm replying to. So I seem extremely friendly to some, while to some others...
The reason I didn't use the search was that I honestly couldn't think about what to search for. The difference between us is that you seem to have been following developments (at least to an certain extent), so you have more of an idea as to what has actually been discussed and as such, what to actually search for. There are always going to be repeat questions and statements in threads (that will never change) and the best thing to do is just answer or direct to a post that gives the answer (it's slightly different when the question is literally answered on the same page and sometimes just one or two posts above).
The frequency of updates going forward is also important, as if it is to take a few months per update, then it may not be worth me playing each update and instead better to wait for a few to pile up or for the finished product and start a fresh play-through at that point so that the full story is fresh in my mind at that time (I'm one of those people that read every word and don't just skip to "fun" parts).
You choosing not to answer that question just goes to show what your intention was with your reply to my post. I don't really see how the question was vague. If you've played through the new content, then you should have a rough idea of how long it took you to get through it, which would be a good gauge as to how much content there is in the update (it doesn't need to be accurate to the second or even minute, just a ballpark figure).
It's probably best if we both take a step down, as I think we were both probably a bit over the top with our replies.
