And literary books are rarely commercially successful. Since gaining patrons for a game in the 'adult games' category is one the dev's main goals, I was suggesting ways that might help. The dev's pigeonholing himself at a critical point in the game's lifecycle.

It's a ton of pressure that the story and writing of the game has to live up to, if that's its major selling point. It's easy for it to feel amusing and mysterious early on. Only later do the holes show up and cracks break the story. There's a huge risk of losing his existing base if/when they don't like some plot point later in the story, we've seen that happen too.

No one's asking for a mass market product. Just a little tweaking of the ratios. Why can't some quick fap content and a good story coexist? There's something definitely wrong with this sort of thinking, that it has to be one or the other.

I have to admit this is one of the few VN's I read. I tend to only go for story heavy ones like Depraved Awakening, Wicked Choices etc and this has started pretty damn well.

I don't generally like male protag games, it needs something to grab me. The story and a couple of the characters have me interested. I was a bit uncertain about Luna at the start, i've seen a lot of people try to make crazy characters and they either end up being one dimensional or the comedy act. It's nice to see a character with crazy tendencies but also some depth and room for character growth.

There is a difference between adding a sex scene for no reason and integrating sex into the plot. In a VN like this you can integrate sex into the story very easily given the theme. For example two of my favorite VNs on this site are Depraved Awakening and Acting Lessons. They have sex without it looking cheap. In both cases the authors do not shy away from the scenes just to drag on the VN and milk it as much as they can they have added the scenes to help enhance the story and it works very well.

Fact is people come here for the porn. They stay for the story but they come for the porn. And you can make a good VN without having to wait for ten updates before the first sex scene. The VNs I mentioned above are proof of that. While adding meaningless sex scenes is bad and can affect the writing negatively I would argue that unnecessarily dragging on the VN for no apparent reason is just as bad if not worse. Here for example the game is about gangsters and the mafia. Given the atmosphere and the context having sex scenes will only enhance the story not cheapen it. It is not the story of seducing an innocent young girl it is the story of gangsters and hardened criminals wjo commit crime on a daily basis and given this I would argue that not having sex goes against the theme.

This game is still in early stages of development so we will see how it goes however I hope the author can find that balance between adding meaningless sex and unnecessarily dragging in a way that does not make sense given its context.

I cant continue to event 5, it requires daytime and Soldato rank, but i am Elite Soldato.
I cant seem to make any other progress, quests for this version are completed (Luna and Isabel).

When i try to continue it says "requirements not met, check events"

Just started playing this latest release. 5 minutes into it (I started with my last save) I found myself laughing... after the movie with the girls. My usual M.O. is to rush through the dialog to get to the lewd or racy scenes. Not with The DeLuca Family, I read every word. Either @HopesGaming is a very gifted writer and/or spends a lot of time getting it just right. Keep up the great work.

I don't understand why some people are offended by the addition of FAP scenes.... The characters are rendered beautifully so why not show some skin? While Gracie is beautiful. I find Luna very sexy (probably partly because she could the MC's ass) plus I lover her freckles. I have to hurry back to it. Enjoy!

Id expected more content, I don't even care much about sex scenes and such, but 2 month for 15min gameplay feels bad.

I understand that writing a good story isnt easy, and those renders look like they take ages, I also understand that 600$/month doesnt mean fulltime work, and quality takes time. Still, I hoped for more.

If sounds like you're saying you want this to be an adult game but that the adult stuff will come in at the end. Which means 80-90% of it is going to be story, romance and action. You already have fans who love your story and hopefully will support you till its concluded. But, don't you want to win over people on the fence?

Imagine someone trying this game after 0.06. They'll have to go through 2 hours of story and grind before they get to any adult content. I don't think its that unreasonable to want a balance between erotic scenes and story early on, if you've classified it as an adult game. It's usually a writing block where writers can't think past the first sexual encounter. They believe it breaks all sexual tension, which isn't true at all if written well. Even if you pick up a soft erotica title that's targeted at the female market (who supposedly prefer longer build-ups and romance), say an Anne Rice book, you've got more erotic content and build-up there in the first quarter than this game has.

Anyhow, it's good to hear the focus of 0.03 is on the love stuff.
