Well, I don't try any more to understand others, especially here. I'm just happy if I even understand myself. Also everybody can shit some numbers out or other quantifiers, thus as long as I don't see any hard facts, I quantified those as hearsay.

Multiple season and abandoning it halfway has become a common practice. That's why there are so few completed quality games coming out lately.

And I was sure doing a quality game takes a lot. Even more with the usually dev getting around 100$/month from Patreon, but I must be wrong as it is clearly because they earned too much money from Patreon. Why do those devs even take money, they should do it for free!

Subs have been frozen for over a year, no money made there, unless people are willingly donating single-shot donations. You know that already.

Uhm bro, reading comprehension? It was all about the user claiming Hopes abandoned it because of a lack of support. His patreon being frozen nowaday or not doesnt change anything. I just pulled out the 222 sub number to showcase that he STILL has quite a few willing supporter despite doing nothing for 3 years.

So it stands to assume that he had pretty good support as long as he indeed worked on the avn.

Thanks for the link, so yeah, while Hopes was still active and developing this avn he had like 600 subs, thats not too bad, even more considering that this avn now was longer "on hold/abandoned" than in development lol. He probably could have easily raised that number with ongoing development.

Not that it really matters why he abandoned the avn and in the end its his choice what to do but to claim its because of a lack of support and using that to justify the devs ghosting is just laughable.

Its the other way around, he is still making money despite putting no work in for ages, so the assumption that he could earn good money while putting in the work isnt wrong.

There is no way to look at this in any kind of positive way or excuse his buisness practice for the dev, at least not since he put it on steam and turned it into a buisness. He can of course still stop development for whatever reasons he want but to claim it was because of a lack of support is just ridiculous.

And even than he should have just said that its abandoned/on hold/whatever instead of ghosting his patreons and whatever it is hes doing at the moment (if he does anything) and all off this after a big accouncement how he is going to become a fulltime dev lol

Yeah sure if he deavtives the sub monthly, he isnt earning anything (is he really doing that every month tho?), anyway his patreon could be deleted at this point and it wouldnt change anything about the point. It did earned more money in the past and could have gotten even more with ongoing development.

This was what got the discussion going, i never said it was your quote. But whatever, its not like any of it matters, hopes can do what he wants, i was just annoyed with putting the blame on the subs (or non-subs), i dont think hopes himself would do that either.

I think he paused in November but the last update post on Patreon before that was March or May. He might have been working on it in the months in-between who knows.

I don't think the dev is that busy that he can't just write a single sentence to let people know officially whether the game is abandoned or not. Anywhere whether in his patreon or discord, just to let people know whether it will eventually come or not at all.
It will take about 2-3 minutes I guess.

Sadly I put this in the same box as a certain game being where it began and another game with the leaving of Summer.

All 3 are good games but have been in development for so long and made so little progress that the chances of ever seeing them complete are about as high as my chances of getting Eliza Dushku to be my personal pussy taster.

While I don't rate my chances of getting Dushku's head betwixt my thighs I also don't think anyone here really has the patience to wait 14-21 years to see then end of a visual novel.

Put into perspective. I was 19 when this was released into the world. I'm now closing on 30. If timing persists, closing on 40 by the end of season 2, 50 by season 3.....

It's sad, I love this game, i'd love nothing more that to see it completed. However i'm also cursed with common sense. It just doesn't seem likely at all.

I don't want to put a downer in the thread and it's a very rare moment when i'm serious about anything long enough to warrant a rational thought but people here are debating sub numbers and whether the dev is still working or not but ignoring anyting close to logic.

Doesn't matter if he's still working on it or not. The speed in which things happen here only show me it's a matter of time before he would give up.

While I would love nothing more than for Hopes to prove me wrong there is also the very arrogant sounding notion that I very rarely ever am wrong. Even on those very rare occasions I am, i'm also a women and blame other people for it, lolz, fuck you accountability.

With the connection, the game has been abandoned for more than a year and a half, and even in the "active" development phase, we received at best one update per year.
It is not clear what they are continuing to discuss here.

This game has quite a strong yet dumb fanbase that kept on defending it's devs even after delays and delays over years.Too much trust in a game and dev where he clearly stated years ago that this game was merely a side project.

It was quite evident how things were going to turn out in the end and even if it does drop an update in future it still would end up getting abandoned again.

Don't get your hopes up, brother. It's been 1.5 years already and the dev went completely dark. Froze subs on patreon, don't answer messages, not a single dev update... This is most likely dead.
