Hey guys,
To whoever feels inclined to leak the game, please reconsider. I work on this game for five hours at least per day for two to three months for each update. I rely on the income from the early releases to make doing this worth it. If it gets leaked the second day, I lose a ton of money. If I don't make a certain amount each release cycle I can't justify the time and resources it takes to make this game. So please don't leak any links. I'll give the links to the OP when it is ready and it will be the latest version with all bug fixes and revisions, so it's best to wait for that version anyway. I understand the appeal of making others happy, I get it. But doing so really affects my ability to continue making this game.
Thanks,
Bobby
So that means you are relaying in people desperate to see new content that usually doesn't feel complete (not talking specifique for your game) that will not entirely support all time, just in the month of the release.
Making the game BUYABBLE one time on Itch is good a thing too (which I see it is not in sync with last version), I usually buy all them cause it worth the dollar I spend, that much people here buying in dollar/euro is super expensive.
Making a paywall thing and expect people to support, releases have to be at least passionate and worth it by the time spent on the release. (If 6 months people expect a medium to long update, for a example.) Having test builds for your patrons on Discord or something to get feedback and fixes bugs, then releasing for everyone all gucci and fixed.
You have to show what is the project is about, love and dedication about. People who enjoy the project or how you develop they will support (if they have the financial possibility) if the new release get leaked.
When I was employed I had supported some creators that release stuff in for free on day 1, so not actually paying for the game but supporting the creator and their passion.
As so many good projects they start and developer abandon the project (even if they receiving a lot of money), there is a bunch of milkers too (like Summertime Saga) and yes you can probably abandon the project for needing money and can't invest time in the game (because we all need money to survive) and go back when, if possible.
PS: I wrote this based on your comment, I did not look into your stuff to know more about, so it is a advice for all creators.
