Good luck to him, personally I will only "buy" an update for a game I like, as I like quite a few and want to share what I'm willing to spend on AVN's around a few different devs. It's nothing personal, it's just my own preference. If I have to wait another week before buying then fair enough I guess.
While I do understand that this is to reward his "loyal" patreon supporters and an attempt to combat piracy.
I also feel like F95 and the people who visit here, was one of the main platforms that got this game its popularity.
So while he may feel frustrated with it, without it he would still be sat with only a handful of supporters lost in a sea of games on Patreon.

I always found it funny how surprisingly patient folks here can be waiting months (barring occasional questions about updates, which is perfectly fine)... then the release day comes and suddenly these lurker/baby accounts come crawling out from underneath the Refresh button like cockroaches begging for leaks and spamming for heroes nonstop everyday when they've been doing just fine before.

Like it's going to end up here, it's inevitable. But there is being a pirate - and then there's being impatient and addicted to instant gratification. To say the latter in another context... on a porn forum, now that's saying something.

he's said before he plans to release it on steam , once he reworks the old animations. I forget when he was hoping to get that done. If I recall correctly I heard he was wanting to try get it done by Spring but im thinking won't be any earlier than Summer.

What really took me out of it were these lines. Apparently this woman's mom is a multi-millionaire and $70k a year ain't good enough. I need to see this author's w2 because this writing is $10 banana levels of detached from reality.

Not really if you're considering the characters and the lifestyle they're familiar with.

If Mr. Santini knows Kathryn is used to a millionaire lifestyle, implying 70k isn't much would possibly play on the boyfriend's insecurities of whether he's worthy to be with Kathryn and make him easy to manipulate.

I don't find either of those that out of place - top she's referring to a total nest egg stashed away, not an ongoing income. The bottom passage captures Santani's arrogant nature well - you're right, 70k is a decent chunk of change, so his cavalier reference shows his personality.

Even as a nest egg you get around 60k per year in interest per million(depending on if you shop around for the best rates). So 5 million gets you about 300k per year. That is a nice income for doing nothing.

Could be, but if he's making 70k a year that's over almost 6k per month depending on taxes/deductions I'll say about 4500 per month bring home. In most places making that much per month should easily put you into a decent area to live. Add in what she is making and they should be living comfortably without living off the interest.

Starting with Chapter 7 of The East Block, I’m introducing a new loyalty reward to show my gratitude to those of you who’ve demonstrated exceptional dedication and generosity to this project. This reward also serves as a way to protect The East Block from piracy and leaks, which have unfortunately been an issue in the past.
Why this reward?
In the past, some individuals have signed up briefly, downloaded the game, and then unsubscribed, only to leak it online. This behavior not only undermines the hard work I’ve put into the project but also negatively impacts the experience for genuine supporters. By rewarding loyal patrons, I’m creating a more secure and trustworthy community while ensuring fairness for everyone.
Here’s how it works:
Patrons who qualify for this reward will receive a one-week advance preview of every new chapter before the standard early release schedule begins for everyone else.
How to Qualify:
To be eligible for the loyalty release, you must meet the following criteria:

• Active membership at any tier for at least six months (these months don’t need to be consecutive).
• A total pledge of at least $100 USD since the start of the project.

Currently, 79 of you meet these requirements—thank you so much for your incredible support! I’ll update the list regularly as more patrons qualify.
Important Notes:

• If you don’t qualify for the loyalty release, don’t worry, you won’t be playing the game any later than usual.

Well, this is the way, IMO, for a constant developing game that can keep going for years and years to make more money in a fair way. while using foruns like F95 to make his work to be seen.

I particularly see NO problems with this. Tbf IMO, I think just 1 week in advance is too little, could be even a month.

The thing I can't stand is to build and write a scene to take the players to a specific scene and lock that scene behind a paywall only patreon members can choose if they pay. This I find very pathetic.

Early access is ok, this dev is consistent with his updates, he's not milking anybody (at least for now), he's totally on his right here. While he's delivering his product with consistency, he can find fair ways to increase his payment.

I tried this one out. The girl is gorgeous but this is just not for me, way too fcked up for my taste sry. Im just not into this whole NTR and sharing stuff so im going to pass. Too bad, there are choices where you can seemingly avoid NTR but then there are scenes that are clearly not meant to be happening on that path and you end up doing some crazy stuff no matter what, like the photoshoot scene where she turns into a damn slut in like a split second despite having previously said to her no nudity stuff and then he just goes along with it all of a sudden? Total break of the no ntr path. Its really out of blue and ruined the entire game for me. I Just couldn't continue after that. Good luck to the dev with the game though, im sure some of these more kinky guys over here will enjoy it but its a pass for me

You hit a new tax bracket around 70k so it's more like 4200 a month.

While 70k is a decent income let's put things into perspective.

At 100k you're grossing 8000 a month. At 250k it's 20k a month. At 500k it's 70k a month. At 1million it's 83k a month. Roughly. So basically if she's used to a millionaire lifestyle she's being asked to live on what she's used to in a month to be stretched out for a year. Even in normal circumstances that's gotta wear on a guy that got lucky enough to cross those class barriers.

And it looks like the dev is leaning into that a little bit.
