Mario Kart 80$, The East Block $100.
That would be a valid complaint if you were handing over $100 and getting the update in return, but that's just not the case. It's basically a subscription service, where the initial release is available to "long-term" subscribers first so they have a little reward for their loyalty, and can help bug test. It's like they are the beta testers for the game.

It doesn't change the fact that $100 isn't the whole game, for long-time subscribers, the whole game will end up costing over $2,000...
It's way too expensive. Even $80 for the whole game is expensive.

Yep. Also on Wednesday it will only be $16. In a week it will only be $8 and will likely be leaked here in between that time. Some people need to have a little patience.

It's up to the individual to decide what it's worth and what to spend their own money on. If you think that $100 over 6 months is too expensive for you, then don't do it.

There really needs to be a pinned post somewhere that explains what Patreon* is...

It's easy to just glance at it and say you're paying for a complete game, but that's really not the case. Patrons pay to support a dev while s/he is developing their game, and as a reward, they get access to updates as they are released, with higher-value supporters getting earlier access as part of an improved perks package.

If you just want to hand over cash as a one-off and get the game in return, you'll need to wait for it to be completed and buy it on Steam or somewhere, at which point it will be a price much lower than $100, I'm sure. That's when you can compare it to buying a copy of Mario Kart or whatever, because until then, the two things being compared are not the same.

*other subscription models are also available

its also a niche product (genre) within a niche product (renpy avns) and there is no large studio production behind it. thinking of this game as a "game" is kind of not accurate. we're not really buying a game so to speak on the patreon. its more like enjoying the dev's hobby and supporting them to keep on.

I think what he was trying to say is that it's not "priced" at $100 - as in, there isn't a $100 tier that it's been released to. Instead, it's a "loyalty" offering, to those who have been signed up for a certain length of time, during which their total paid adds up to $100 or more. So there might be a $1 tier, for which you'd need to have been signed up for 100 months, or a $20 tier, where you'd need to have been signed up for 6 months (minimum time limit) and in which case would have paid $120.

You are correct TonyMurray. Thank you for making it more clear for everyone on here.

I'm a loyal Patreon supporter and I been supporting the Dev since the VN came out (The East Block). The VN is NOT $100 folks lol - it is for long time loyal Patreon supporters who have been paying the Dev over time - but somehow Trolls manage to twist things and exaggerate for attention on here. :ROFLMAO:

With that said, regardless of how long it took for the Dev to release the latest Chapter of the VN, and the fact that creative works can be challenging at times and things beyond the Dev's control can happen, no one is obligated to continue giving support to the Dev if it takes longer than expected. However, people should realize that the Dev needs support in order to make the VN and if we enjoy it, we should always consider giving the Dev support if we can. As for People that don't give any support but only come on here to complain and beg for "heroes" to leak the game, and have the rude nerve to complain, should be grateful they eventually get to see the VN, and should stop acting so damn rude and insulting. The Dev doesn't owe any troll or non-supporter anything! So let that sink.

Thanks again, Tony Murray, for sharing a simple understanding about the loyalty supporter feature Bobbyboy offered to his loyal Patreon supporters.

As for The East Block - Chapter 7 - it is HOT and very entertaining. Great job, Bobbyboy! Cheers! (y)

I find it hilarious that this is a site for fully cracked pirated games, and yet they have the audacity to beg people not to leak the game and even try to give a moral lesson lol. Sooner or later, it’s going to leak — I highly doubt it’ll last until the 17th, and when it does, we’ll be right here :)
Everyone on here knows that it's only a matter of time until the update is leaked. It's certainly not going to be leaked by loyalty tier people though. Either way, Bobby will have achieved his goal of giving something a little extra to the loyal supporters who have stuck with him.

Why are you even bother to comment? Those who are impatient to wait for pirated version, should buy the game and become the famous hero everyone is calling for.

They couldn't yet even if they wanted to, this is what the fuss is about. You need to have been a paying supporter for at least 6 months. On Wednesday it will be available to anyone who is willing to pay $16. I will buy the update as I do enjoy the game and want to support the dev. Even if it was delayed....shit happens.

It can literally be a single "misplaced" character inside ANY of the script files.

It is not feasible to search for it, even if you are aware that there is one hidden.
Exactly. When I was uploading private files for other top uploaders. We had a leaker. So I used to embed their user name intitals for each in one of the files that I gave out to the group. Other times even shortened the file for some others by a second or two. So we could catch the person leaking it. Devs can even put each members initials in a certain render, for the copy they receive. Members would have no idea its there or where to look. Many simple ways to track a leaker copy.
