You are a bit off. I believe he is referring to certain RENPY games that allow you to disable AI animations entirely by setting it so in the settings tab. For example, like so:

Honestly, while I do not really mind AI animations, I have to disagree- switching Unseen Text ON and using Ctrl is a terrible and cumbersome way to guess where AI animations start and where they end. Not to mention the hit to immersion when you are trying not to miss story dialogues that run during the AI sequence.

haha kind of the opposite for me I dislike it when sex scenes use AI but like AI for stuff llike dancing or other movements like that would never been created as a animation in the first place. Even if they don't look perfect i tend to not mind them as I always liked it when dev's made animations that isn't part of a sex scene.

Thank you for the info, friend, but I am definitely not off at all. Clearly, most VN games do NOT have what you are sharing in this image. That is a custom coded screen preference in RenPy and not all VNs have these options. I am going by the default standard preferences in RenPy, not any custom made preference. Basically, what I wrote is in fact correct, unless there is another way to do it differently, then again, please do enlighten us. While I appreciate you sharing the info, it has nothing to do with custom screen preferences, and The East Block VN only uses the standard default preferences not the one you shared in your image.

* So with all due respect, I stand by what I wrote and Ctrl is the easiest and best way to skip any animation or text. I am also very familiar with RenPy, but this is not rocket science lol. It is a simple default feature in RenPy folks can enable and use if they would like to skip animations or text. I also don't mind any animations that look good, so I am with you on that.

Also, if you didn't read what I wrote earlier just to reiterate what I wrote in my earlier comment here it is: "I never skip anything because I like getting a feel for the story and scenes, which I enjoy with any VN I like, but most especially with The East Block."

As for guessing where animations start and end, this is not so complex lol, and yes it can be a bit annoying, but using Ctrl with Unseen Text On in RenPy when using a PC works as intended and does help skip animations and text, but as for how anyone likes to enjoy their VN experience when using RenPy, to each their own. nope only cheating if that changes in the future who knows but kind of doubt it with how the choices in ch 7 surrounding pat didn't matter at all for this update. One of them felt like it could of lead to that to me.

ah that sucks. Was really hoping this would turn out like that story from one forum of a guy letting his girlfriend go dancing with his father. It was a long thread of this guy going through it irl, and enjoying and encouraging it. Eventually he loses gf to dad.

No and Luke hates Pat so would never be ok with that. The only difference with the choice of going with Kat and Pat is that Pat gets to belittle Luke again, Kat tells him to leave and then stays there with Pat, when Luke leaves.

Anyone reading your comments on this would think that you can use "skip unseen" via the Ctrl button and just avoid the animations and nothing else. But that's not the case. Yes, it skips animations, but it doesn't discriminate, it skips everything and will only stop when it reaches a choice, unless you manually intervene. That is what I meant by saying it is not a solution. The problem specified was that the animations do not allow you to progress until they have run their course, so if you press space or left click, it does nothing. A regular animation would stop and move on to the next line of code, be it a static render or a line of dialogue, when you click the mouse or hit space.

The "problem" was only regarding the animations, not the entire game, but you calling "skip unseen" the solution is like giving a surgeon a sledgehammer when they ask for a scalpel. I think you are reaching a little too far in trying to debunk any criticism of this update, and sometimes you just need to accept that not everyone views it through rose-tinted glasses, and nor should they be expected to.

I notice if I use ctrl skip well before the unskippable AI animation starts it did skip them but if I tried to skip close to where they start it wouldn't. I don't got unseen text on just skipping through what ive seen

Well Kat could help the father son relationship reconcile. Like if she starts fucking pat, and then slowly turning Luke to like it and forgive his father. It's fucked up, but it's hot.

Kat has daddy issues, that much is clear. After the death of her own father who she was closest to apparently. So she doesn't see him for what he really is.
She also has no right to tell Luke how to be with his own father. She wasn't there when he was growing up. She also says to Pat "You didn't even say anything bad" when earlier he told Luke to "Grow a pair of balls" during their argument, like really bitch?

Then you have already missed the point. AI Animation is NOT default for RENPY standard in the first place. If a dev goes as far as to bake it into their game, they can go a step farther and CAN code the setting to disable them as well. It's just a preference of if they want to or not. Clearly it's a divisive technology so you can't blame people if they like AND dislike it.

Also more and more games with AI animations are choosing to add that setting nowadays. So while you're correct in citing the setting missing, as the standard- it doesn't mean that it's fine still with the AI tech added as well. I mean we could also smash rocks with other rocks. But once we mastered the iron, we appreciated the hammer for doing the job better, no?

Lastly, just because you enjoy the game as is, doesn't mean everyone else does as well. If someone bothers to type a criticism, fair chance they care about the game in their own way and would like to see it improve. Your method of skipping SKIPS EVERYTHING. The original poster only wants to skip AI animations, not the CGs themselves. There is a stark difference here and I have no idea how you think it's fine to fit a square in a round hole because "at least it still blocks the hole".

I have to say, is a good porn (adult) game, with good ideas and, now, a very good graphic, but the story is strange without a main quest to follow, some adventure is out of mind. But there are some beatiful pearls.
