Yeah. I get the feeling she knows exactly what she's doing. The question is: will the developer allow the player to choose how the MC reacts (from a meaningful menu of options)? Or will the developer force the MC to act oblivious in the interest of "plot and drama"?

But again, she acts just like a real woman:

yeah why I intend to replay the scene later cause honestly my thoughts on it never been as negative as the others. I never really fully blamed or got mad at Kathryn for staying cause of how Luke told her to stay but thought she should of ignored Luke and go after him anyways. Hell if I insert my personality and put my self in Kathryn's Shoe's id probably look just as bad. As I wouldn't go after Luke , id let him calm down and cool off as he kind of said he wanted to be alone. Since im a introvert and I avoid conflict I wouldn't want to risk the chance of Luke getting more upset at me which is why i wouldn't go after him. The only difference is I wouldn't go home with Pat , unless I didn't have money for a Taxi.

Only thing other than her not going after Luke , I only didn't like how she didn't try to get separate rooms , and after Luke left defended Pat. But alot of what you wrote I either forgot or just flew by me and didn't see it as a big deal at the time. As I notice when it comes to AVN's alot of things that are issues with players never seem like a big deal to me until I either read about it and their pov or replay the scene. Don't forget the "You didn't even say anything bad" that Kat says to Pat and the Luke is an adult and should handle his emotions. Let's not forget that Pat said that Luke should "Grow a pair of balls" not long before.
Besides Luke's issues with his father are his business, it's Kat's place to be there for Luke to help him, certainly not to help Pat. Not to try and force anything. She wasn't there when Luke was growing up, she doesn't know.

Like I said before Kat has daddy issues that much is clear, stemming from her own father dying. So she likes to see the good in Pat and can't see his true intentions.

It kinda sounds like you're wilfully ignoring what people are saying because it doesn't fit in with the argument you're trying to make. Those plot contrivances you're trying to equate this to at least make some sort of sense. They fit the overall narrative of what's happening and what happened before. That's not the case here on certain paths, and that is the thing people have said on multiple occasions. I get that you don't understand the level of upset some have experienced here, but given that they've explained their position (several times in many cases), I'd say that's a you problem and not a them problem.

And also, once more you've returned to it being about not having sought permission first. How many people here have said the issue was that Kathryn didn't get Luke's permission before fucking the dad he hates? There's a difference between offering counterpoints after understanding a complaint and just providing arguments based on what you think the complaint is.

You realize people can explain their position many times and that does not mean it makes sense or is correct, right? Repetition does not bolster the validity of a statement or one's truth. It's quite possible I understand the arguments but simply disagree. Regardless, it is what it is and I respect your opinion without necessarily agreeing with it. Peace.

Take my take on the situation with a grain of salt as I've never played before (but kept tabs on this game).
I'm betting that the situation where Kathryn spends the night with Pat is to keep the routes stacked with each other. Fewer variations to the story means fewer renders to make. Therefore all routes will be using similar renders which means the dev won't need to make a happier route and a splitting up route that much different outside of text. Now both routes have tension between MC and Kathryn. It may seem out of place for the happier routes but it makes the dev's life much easier. That's my best guess as to why the developer went this route. Otherwise he'd have to make double the renders: one route where everyone is happy and going along with the story in that direction, and one route where there's tension in the relationship.
Just a guess from an outside perspective.

You can bet on laziness to be responsible for outcomes in most things (not just AVNs) and you likely will win more bets than you'll lose, that's for sure.

In his discord post, the developer explained that he forced this content because he wanted things to go this way; I guess he may as well force the rest of the story to go his way, too. We'll see what happens in the next update, I suppose.

I somehow doubt the vacation is gonna happen in the next update unless there is some kind of skip to the airport after Franklin shows us the basement. Even the vacation gonna last for 10 days. So im expecting the vacation is either gonna take 2 updates to complete or some time skips during it.
