If you only got 7$ in 8 months of this game being "published", then you (the team) severely mishandled this game. Even if you released this game on Steam for 1$ asking price, you would've been in the hundreds by now.
We thought about it but no one had $100 to pay Steam fees, +80$ that we spend at chapter 2

I'm not saying this for someone have pity on us like "they're so poor", but the value of the dollar in my country is very expensive, and far as i know steam only accept US dollar, as i said shit happens i'll finish somatra then i'll decide what i can do it for tales.

I'm still confused on how with 3 people you spent $80+ on a rpg maker game that uses a different program to make the art.
Are you just counting what you payed yourselves because you quit your own jobs?
Also you could have used placeholder music/copyright free instead of buying music immediately.

You could always try again solo, but simply do it as a side job with a smaller scope.

A game like this one should be able to find some funders, I'd say. i know that I would gladly pay for a game like Eleonora's Story. It would be very weird if even a game like this one didn't stand a chance to return its investments, not mentioning making good revenue.

Most RPGM's are way below the level of this one, and they manage to make money. Even with that mosaic crap.

I really recommend that you take up on my invitation.

I don't know how I can be any clearer. It's not cheap to produce a game, and it requires a lot of knowledge that I don't have myself. If you compare Somatra, which I'm making on my own, with Tales of Eleonora, you'll notice a big difference in quality.

Nevertheless;
The Rpg Maker license costs money.
The Rpg Maker tilesets cost 20$ ~ 40$ dollars to create high quality maps.
The game has a quality standard for maps, I didn't just say "oh, now I'll make them with Rtp"
Mapper (I'm terrible at mapping, all maps from Somatra and Tales cost 10$ ~ 30$ per map)
General coding and a few fixes cost money depending on what bug or script is needed, I bought tons of Yanfly scripts, but one or two things need to be fixed.
We did the characters sprites for free, but for the story characters we paid an artist $12 (five) each (both Tales and Somatra Like; Eleonora $12, Eleonora Naked $12, Eleonora Fox Nude $6 Eleonora Fox Armor $6 and we need a lot more).

You may think this is "expendable" or "disposable", but the beauty is in the details.

Various post-processing programs like:
Photoshop.
Wondershare Filmora.
Obs Studio for recording sounds
Sfx & Bgms
Music Editor to cut, edit and loop music.
And so on.

The game, although it has no audience, is well made for the rpgmaker mv(adult) parameters, so
I'm not going to touch the game to lower the quality. I'll either keep what I've or make it better, never worse.

So I'll not produce the game to make it sloppy.

I don't want to be ignorant, That's my last answer, I'm not going to bring up this subject again.

I want to thank you Belphegor despite my answer you have more love for this project than I do.

Imma be honest with you, investing all that money into mapmaking, as well as a license for RPGM? I bought RPGMV on Steam for like 5€ during a sale, which is often enough (RPGMZ is completely unnecessary), and buying maps is just a waste of money. The key element to elevate your RPGM games is Story & Combat. Maps and graphics are secondary, at least in my humble opinion. I definitely understand paying the artists for their work, but if the money was tight from the start, then some compromises had to be made - or not made at all. Sorry that this project failed, but sounds like another bad case of ambition. Was there never an option for Patreon?

We had Patreon, but I deleted it when we decided to stop game development, but that's your opinion and it's fine.

Perhaps he is recommending that you create an account on a multi-genre sponsorship site with less censorship, such as 'subscribestar', and get sponsors.

If there is a sponsor site for this game, I would also like to support it.
We had a patreon and another one that i forget the name :KEK:

Oh, I started a conversation (the little envelope at the right top, next to your notifications). Now I see that it's gone. I'll start the conversation again, then...
Clicking "Show all..." should show you all of your conversations.

I will try to summarize the history of the game to illustrate the problem. We develop the game with three people: a programmer, a mapper (who draws the game's maps) and me, who does everything else. Up to this point, I had most of the work, which I honestly didn't mind.

The problem is that the game was supposed to have 12 chapters and 1 extra chapter, so 13 in total. Since we wouldn't make the decision to continue the project or not until we delivered chapter 5, about 40 to 45% of the game, if it was financially worthwhile to continue, our financial plan was that each of us would gradually quit our respective jobs to devote ourselves full time to the game. We came to the conclusion that $1500 would be enough to devote more time to the game. We split the money between 3 people, with me getting the biggest chunk, about 50%, and the others getting 25% and 25% depending on how much responsibility each member had.

So we started developing the idea. Unfortunately, the game didn't do very well in its first chapter due to poor balance, which I was responsible for because I didn't have enough math skills to solve the problem.

The development group agreed to fund the 2nd chapter out of their own pockets, which cost about 70$ to produce and required even more (sprits, tilesets, music, software). After we released the second chapter, it wasn't well received either because the balance wasn't ready,

my mathematician friend and I released 2.5 (The new version) The cost of developing the third chapter was about 80 dollars, while the game made about 7 dollars in the meantime. We came to the conclusion that the game was not accepted by the community mainly because of my mistake and that it was a waste of time and resources, because although it is only 6~8 months old game, many of the early versions have much more founding than Tales of Eleonora achieved during its development.

So one guy said "well makes no sense pay to work" i'm out, the other said i agree i'm out too,
and the project was ended.
oh...this was my favorite rpg game to watch..i was so hyped seeing it come together

Yup, mismanagement killed this game. Not all hatchlings get to soar, some stumble and fall, others stumble and break themselves...

Forgive me for the indiscretion, but what country are you from? Because to end up like this due to not having funding is very sad, but it is true what some say, making money with a porn game is not an easy task, many work while making the game in their free time, and only when you know that the game is having a decent success do you consider putting 100% into it.

Atm in brasil(22 years here) i used to live in france(7 years there) (i still know how speak french by the way), in brasil we used a coin called;

1729937214107.png
So $100+$80 = R$ 1027,00 1729937408402.png note brasil is with "s" not with "z"

Brasil economy is based on the dollar, so it is very difficult to earn in real and live in dollars.
