Yeah, they change it about only two years back.
It's been the 2nd and the 15th now since about halfway through TON (or so). They changed it to the 2nd to avoid the resource problem that other tasks also required on the 1st.

The game got moved to the months 2nd day so the billings could go smoothly and servers would not melt down when a release is dropped... it's money making at the end of the day...
