That was the date F95zone took control over this thread.
That's true in this specific case, but "Release Date" on the OP is not there to indicate when F95Zone takes over a thread. It matches the date the developer (you) released the latest version of the game. (You released v0.24 on that same date.)

They just failed to update the "Release Date" information to December 26, 2024, like they should have when they updated the thread with information about v0.25. That line doesn't even indicate when the latest version gets over on this site. On many other threads — still owned by their developers or not — the "Release Date" gets changed to whenever the game's latest version became available. That's all that line is supposed to indicate. (It's also why often the "Release Date" and the "Thread Updated" dates don't match.) But obviously it's not always updated the way it should be.

Is that correct? I don't think so.

The released date that the game or VN hits here at F95 is at the top of the OP, Nov 7, 2021.
The "release" date below the "Update" is the release date of the latest update but it not always correct.

...not sure why you quoted my post, since you said exactly what I already said. Also, the date shown in the upper left corner is the date the OP was created, true. However, that doesn't say it's a release date or anything, and that doesn't even always match the date the game was originally released, since sometimes games don't make it over here until the game is completed even. That date is only when the OP was made, just like for any normal user's post.

I think you have done a pretty good job making the game, but the progress seem slow.
Have you got bored with the project?

No, I love to create the story.

But it's very time consuming and it's difficult to find the time to work on this game. With all the different paths things go slower than in the beginning of the story. The guy that I've hired to create renders and animations has also had some health issues this winter.

Nice to hear you love doing it, but its sad to hear you have some difficulties.
Hope you find some good solutions.

Decision time!

I am sorry that there has not been any update of the illustrated version for a long time. I am grateful for all your support and hope that you do not give up on me.
As I’ve written in earlier posts; The guy who is creating the illustrated version has been struggling with health issues for a long time. This winter things have been worse. He hoped that switching back to old medications would solve the problem, but I haven’t been able to get in contact with him since last month.
This means that I need to take a decision. Since he is sitting on all the renders for the game it’s not possible for me to just ask someone else to take over the job. That leaves me with 3 options.
1) Keep on writing the text-based version and hope that my artist at some point will return and continue the work on the illustrated version.
2) Remake the game from the start with a different artist / company. The upside to this is that we can create a better game with better renders and animations. Since I have more Patreons now than when I started I can afford to put money into a professional company who can make a great version of this game. The problem is of course that if I start at day 1 again then many of the existing patrons will drop out, so I don’t really know how much money I can put into this.
3) I can put THS on ice and start working on a new game together with a new artist/company. This will mean that I need to focus 100 percent on this new game and also put the text-based version of THS on ice

NO, no and no on a darker version we need a love and romance version instead.

As for the dev, I would finish THS then work on a new game with help for others on a new version of THS or a new game.

Make sure your patreons are on board with what you do.

If I'm going to create a new game then it probably will be a game called Rose Island. The story will be based around Mr. Xavi's island, so it will have a connection to THS. It will be a story in similar style as THS (Grooming, manipulation, innocence, corruption and sexual exploration. It will start soft and perhaps become more kinky and dark as the story progresses).

What about option 4.- Continue developing the game with a different artist / company.

The only thing that could be different is the models of the characters, there's probably no way to achieve a 100% match but I've seen some really talented fan arts from others games, with really costumed models that are as close as you can get without having the actual files.

If you still desire to remaster the early parts of the game, I suggest the strategy of remastering one day of in-game content each update. This way you still have new content for players that are up-to-date while slowly remastering the game for potential new players. I've seen this strategy to be very effective in the game Desert Stalker and honestly I prefer it to having to wait until all previous content is remastered. I could take years for current players to see any progress with the game and is a potential risk of losing supporters.

show must go on. and remaking old content I don't see as a good sing. There will be no enough of new content or to much work for everyone involved. so option 4 I like far more than others.
option 1 - is asking more wide question - do you want as a dev to continue your story and lead somewhere or just drop it halfway? as for me - I involved only with illustrated version, so you as a dev should check the income and involvement of your supporters to what they prefer.
2 - full game remake will take tooooooo much time... new artist will like not only do remake one to one, but I'm sure, new scenes, transitions, additional script, etc..
3 - idk... I hate to see story that does not lead anywhere and tagged abandoned..
4 - Continue developing the game with a different artist / company. if characters not look so much like themselves its not a big deal. few updates and we will not see the difference. they just need to be good enough that people not complain to much:)

pls work on this dont put it in the bin
its only for the illustrated version ,i'm assuming erik only does the writing ..probably doesn't even have the assets for the renders.
if im right,it will mean if the current(old) artist doesn't come back this will basicly end up in the bin or completely reworked as mentioned.
