Right, I think the problem is people having many playthroughs. I wanted a scope of how many days spent playing the (main) game in total. Has anyone had something in the hundreds?
because of the many versions i went through and lost save files i couldnt tell you with any real certainty. As of now the highest I got is 119 days but earlier versions could put me over 250. Cumulative across all versions would definitely have it 1000+ (was a huge fan :).

As I'm not a programmer or anything of the sort, Im not sure whats the scope of things that could be implemented, but some things I'd like to see (assuming they wont or cant be put in the next update) are:
1. The ability to make a custom citizen that could be seen in story mode. You can customize them in sandbox mode but i wouldve loved that if you made one in sandbox your slave, you could see them in the story maybe with a customizable name and fetishes.

2. Getting your allies in on the searching. I know you can let your allies watch but they cant interact. So maybe having them do random or customized things during searches (i.e. you and richard dp a citizen or even you and a citizen do paula or sth) Maybe you can bribe a citizen to stay after their search and "help" you with someone else.

3. character arcs (unique interactions). This is more for the citizens. I mean like maybe you have a shy citizen but as you have more fun with them they come in with less clothing and more lewd. Maybe have citizens (probably virgins or sth) who remember what you did to them last time and either run away or try to extort you so they dont go to authorities. I personally think a horny citizen that could "attack" you for sex and waste like an hour or so of your day. I know this thread can come up with much more interesting ideas.

4.Some actual difficulty or failure states. Mainly because ive played this game to death, i would a hardcore challenge or modifiers. Maybe have officials secretly show up as normal citizens and if youre too careless and harass or rape them, it could mean a hefty or, with too many offenses, a game over. This game was way too easy (not a bad thing at all but wouldve liked the option).

5. More positions. Probably due to the limitations of the engine, but there wasnt much in the way of positions to choose from. Maybe because my 2 favorites are reverse cowgirl and full nelson, I wouldve loved to have been able to lift one or both of their legs or force them in to oral or even insertion of their own volition.

Theres probably a lot more I can think of but its too early in the morning and im not all here lol. But im sure our lovely community can fill you in with more and even better ideas.

Played past 10-15 hours/75-100 days on each update.

But I'm the sort that plays the shit out of this kind of thing, trying to get his collection of stuff JUST SO.

I spent a lot of time modding outfits so my play time is inflated. IIRC it was about 50-70 days to complete all content.

My main save is at 280 days worked, but that is full story + your mod, I'm afraid I don't know how long it took me the first time, it's my only save too.
Beat you by 1 day lol. Glad someone else has played this as much as I have.

I think i hit 120-140 on vanilla game alone after finishing the main story
And you've rivaling my playtime lol. What a coincidence that us three have played this game almost the exact same amount of time.

Sorry guys, I'm developing a similar game and need to ask, can long time players give me an idea of how many days your save games have? I need a clue on how long the average run is.
100 or so days to beat the main game, I currently have 127 days with just post-game stuff and maxing out the stages.

Oh boy, wall of text incoming, sorry everyone

I posted a few suggestions before so I will try not to repeat myself too much.

I do love The Imperial Gatekeeper as a whole, but the more I played the more I wished it was something more. To keep it simple I will be using base game as a reference point for things I would love to add or change. I will try to order them form reasonably simple to more complex
  • More character reactions. Both in terms of more varied dialogue and more varied triggers
  • Adding some more dialogue options, as in communicating with characters - like after confirming lack of documents or some other fault making it possible to hint the character at the possibility of bribe, or some other favors in return for turning the blind eye, or just play the nice guy. Or just a way to ask for certain thing in different way to influence the character disposition
  • more complex mood system for characters with parameters like defiance, fear, libido, possibly more. With base values depending on type of character with some variance per character or even daily
  • having the characters stay in the pool of people crossing the specific checkpoint with some possibility of showing somewhere else too. In base game any character that wasn't special or marked as slave was just temporary, I was hoping for a system that could give the player an option to mark character as person of interest making it not disappear even when not fully broken and marked. This could open up the possibility of more complex and involved relationship system with players actions over many encounters being taken into consideration. Of course even characters marked as of interest would stop coming to players checkpoint if they are mistreated enough without enough blackmail.
  • make forgery or smuggling hidden weapons/other items a serious crime. denial of passage is not enough such characters should be restrained, fully searched and interrogated under different rules than standard check
  • make forgery harder to detect and of varied quality
  • characters should have personal baggage that we could check for any contraband or other items like vibrators, panties, compromising photos or other blackmail material.
  • general procedures to follow in any given checkpoint should be different and subject to change, possibly allowing the player to cash in good performance score for a chance to shift certain policies
  • possibly some skills for player to show overall improvement in both manual and interpersonal abilities
  • more money sinks, not necessarily in form of daily spending but maybe a donation to authorities to, again, influence certain thing
  • some characters should have a hidden role, like smuggler, spy, exclusive escort, assassin that would be hard to identify but could open more unique interactions with both benefits and risks
Something I am not certain it would make the game better for everyone is making the daily spending a lot higher like in Papers Please to give more of a reason to ever take bribes but give more options to make money on the side. Maybe two difficulty levels?

That is what I can write from the top of my head, I might supplement it with some more ideas later on.

Neat, what's your project? I'm assuming something inspired by ImpG? I hope yours goes well, I had to pause mine till next year when I can save up more funds. Arts expensive. PaganWarlord and Anarking had a lot of good points that I concur with so I won't repeat their suggestions for mechanics.

As for content, thick women like Olivea and the Beast Woman are a must. Also ability to undress women piece by piece in the order I want. I often played this as just an undressing simulator, I wish there were more ENF reactions though and pose changes related to girls being embarrassed when ordered to undress. I was trying to do that in mine. What frustrated me and motivated me to do little mini mods myself was the 4 layers restriction, often a lot of clothing especially accessories would be bundled together, so I'd just use Paint.Net to reorder it in the way I wanted. I like to get a woman bottomless, or just in accessories. Girls only wearing shoes is great too but that's completely absent in ImpG, so full body views of the women would be an improvement.

Also more guest characters from other games or anime/movies, maybe as rare encounters. I loved 2B being added in the mods. I would love to be able to undress Jill Valentine in her Resident Evil Remake or RE3 costumes, and I'd love to undress Padme Amidala in her white Attack of the Clones outfit, maybe even a genderswapped female Clone Trooper would be cool too. Also the Dead or Alive girls. I was going to put these in mine but I had to scrap the idea because I wouldn't be able to list on Steam if I did, so I don't know your plans but free fan games can get away with anything. If not, at least make your game easily moddable, the way I see it, a game like this is kind of an ENF undressing sim platform, and if it was easily moddable, so many people's waifu's could be added to this so they can be undressed in the way we want them to be.

It's funny because I'm already planning most of the suggested features in this thread.
Although suggestions are always welcome, I don't want to hijack the thread.

It's basically the project we've discussed previously over PM, only it's taking a more solid shape now. I also don't want to make the art public and spoil the surprise.
I've worked plenty on the parts system and gone from some vague idea to figuring out every detail to the point I can confidently say it's doable.

The reason I asked about number of days played is because there's a game breaking thing by design, since permanent characters will cease to function after a certain amount of time. Hard to explain without going to specifics. The range however doesn't come near the amount of days the average (and even outlier for that matter) player invested into TIGK, which is good news. I also needed it to determine a viable pregnancy timeframe.

I can discuss details over PM if you want.

I was thinking I'd be great to be able have more arrest options later: like, the warrant lists a couple vague characteristics, and you can choose to arrest someone who fits part of the description or not. One person per day. And then you get to interrogate them to get them to confess or not.

Also a big fan of placating the guards by sending non-imperials stripped their way: more interaction with the guards: i.e. hidden objectives of sending them X girls with Y coloured hair or something like that etc.

Yeah guard interaction is fun. I love the guard on the third level that gives you money if you confiscate women's clothing.

Forgot to mention in my previous post. But spanking. More in depth spanking. I fucking love spanking bitches in ImpG. But it would be better if their butts turn red after a while, maybe you can unlock a whip or a paddle too and that makes different marks on her bottom than using your hand. Face blushing too when spanking and when embarrassed and nude.

Lol no, I have penty of assets, the parts design turned out to be so complicated that I am pushing forward all the rest, since getting around its issues may involve this or that technique that will work better on X engine or Y engine. 2.5D is a weird middle ground that's rarely catered to.
Godot is a good candidate, but it comes with some complications. Therefore I'm not committing until I 100% know exactly what I need and select the most appropriate candidate.

If all goes well, in a few years there will be 3 more ImpG genre games, and your one should be the most moddable which means I get to undress Jill.
It's more accurate to say my project incorporates ImpG elements, but yes it's on the same vein

I'd totally chose the latter. I mean I do love a good story and lore, but for me it is more satisfying to pursue it by my own choice rather than being dragged through it.

I find ImpG's story and lore to be the optimal amount. An additional lorebook with unlockable articles of writefaggory about the world would've fit here as well. In a larger game, I can imagine a more in depth conspiracy story with various countries and factions at play, but ImpG is so small that I was satisfied with just this sort of simple story with a few twists. I enjoyed that the characters and the small scale scenario were focused on. Definitely not here for the story but I was surprised it was competent.
