You managed to be totally correct, while illustrating exactly what I'm saying. You know that people self-insert, yet you speak of it like something outlandish and unreasonable, when the very nature of a VN lends itself to it.
Player choice, in particular, is something that asks the reader to put himself in the shoes of the protagonist. Hell, I've seen people complain they can't name themselves in a game. Being an active participant in the story rather than a passive watcher, is something that, for many, is the only reason VNs are interesting to begin with. They feel they "own" the story, because they had input over it, even if within the confines the developer layed out.
Now I'm playing devil's advocate here. I personally don't self-insert into that many games, and I don't condone harassment of developers of any kind. I agree the dev should do as he pleases, as long as he's aware of possible implications. I've seen a couple of devs expressing regret after they added optional NTR, because they didnt antecipate the backlash they got. If the dev has a vision and they're sticking with it, that's great. But for many devs, financial sucess and having an appeased fanbase matters as much, if not more than their artistic integrity.

You are correct in everything you said.
The bones of this story is something I set in stone for a long time now and no addition or change is made to it without carefully considering how people will react to it.
I'm sorry if I sounded like I dont give a single flying fuck about how the player would feel, that's definetelu not the case. I have dropped many an idea because I was sure most people wouldn't like it.
My golden rule for that is a question I ask myself a lot: "How would I feel if I was in the player's shoes?"
As for regretting my choices, I have only two regrets in the development of this game:
1 - making that damn Halloween special in 2018. That was what made me think reworking the entire game would be a good idea. This whole thing pretty much put the entire development on hold for almost 1 and a half year.
2 - having Mike go back to his hometown when he did. I should have approached it differently. But now that this part of the story is almost over it's too late to go back, so I'll have to live with the consequences of that.

Where's the anti-virus warning?
If it's about the WWD BEATMAP GENERATOR TOOL exe, then it's probably a false positive.
I created that program myself, there are no trojans in it.
It's not signed tho, so that might be it, some anti-virus programs flag non-signed exes as malicious.

I delete the file so I do not remember pretty clear on which specific folder was put on, but I remember that when I unzip it immediately was put here C:\Users\username\AppData not sure on which of the folder... any way

P.S. antivirus called avast and I am not going to download it again just in case, so you will have to test it by yourself or risks your computers

Yeah, as I thought, a false positive. Probably because the file isn't signed.
That file is completely safe.

I doubted, I did not even run the game, why did it put a file on that location if all what I did was unzip it? It smells fishy for me, anyway...
Then don't play it. You have the creator of the game and file telling you that it's not a trojan and avast is the only program that seems to be flagging it that way but if you want to be a bitch about it then literally don't play it.
Edit: It's honestly rich that you want to complain about something being fishy when the company in question, Avast, was caught and fined for selling it's users private information.

asking questions with respect is being a bitch? as far as I remember I did a valid question, why if I unzip the game WITHOUT run it, this file was put on the location that I mentioned before? I makes no senses, this is a valid question, but well, seems like you know more than antivirus. take a break... good luck man, I hope you grow up one day.
