Just checked this last hope you mentioned, so you think lykanz should go 'full 3D' (meaning not pre-rendering the content) and either reduce the quality to the level of what?? date ariane?? or maybe keep the quality and gatekeep the userbase to only those with high-end graphics cards??
All of that so to save some gb of storage, if your computer is running out of space you need to upgrade your storage or delete useless crap(i'm talking in general terms here and not say YOU have to do it) that is basic knowledge on computers.
Personaly i have 1TB SSD for main system and games and another 1TB from my old HDD for all the VN/Animations/Porn stuff so i really dont mind the extra storage required.
I don't even understand how going from pre-rendered images and videos to 3d would save file size.
Not only would it take up similar, or even more file size with 3d assets (characters, clothing, environments, props, textures) depending on the amount, it would also increase system requirements a lot, since everything would be rendered in realtime, so realtime physics/lighting/collisions, loading textures, camera views, fluids (yes those ones), and anything changing in the scene, would all increase system requirements. This would also mean the game takes way longer to run/load than a renpy title.
Saying that is somehow either easier or lighter than working in renpy is insane,
Not to say renpy isnt powerful if you know what you're doing though, I've seen stuff that looks like it could be realtime but still require less than a "real" 3d game.
