>writing and "development"
Literally the part that is skipped over most. Good art can save a game, lazy slapping together assets from an already made game is pointless. Writing helps, but it doesn't make the game worth playing. Literally anyone can just fire up koikatsu and pop in models whenever they want, and have a hundred times more content than these games for no effort.
Koikatsu is an already existing game. You're not producing anything by slapping together some koikatsu animations, you're ripping off that dev's hard work. These koikatsu using games are literally asset flips. Half-decent original art is miles better than talentless, soulless asset flipping. Frankly, the part of these games that takes the longest is the art to begin with, so the super fucking lazy .00001 plus a patreon link demos that have gotten spammed recently using koikatsu have zero excuse.
You only get a pass for these shit tactics if you're actually doing something that takes effort, not asset flipping. And no, developing in RPGM doesn't count. There are games that go above and beyond, and do interesting things with the engine - most don't.
