I'm in the same boat. I feel like 40% of the information needed to tie the chunks available together is just missing (at least as an explanation written by a native english speaker). Even the Hook5 Patreon page is SIGNIFICANTLY less than helpful. Apparently there is Oculus support in the paid Hook5, and that's what I'm interested in. But I'm still QUITE confused on what it is, how it works, where to install what, how to know when it is working, what to do with it. I did use a download/install that looked like Hook5 was loaded, and it looks GREAT compared to other downloads I've used. So Even if I paid for the Patreon, I'm not sure I would know what to do with it properly.
I've figured out roughly what "modding" does -adds new clothes/models/poses/animations to the game menu so you can access them. The different downlodas you can install provided different pre-loaded sets of those. The more you have acailable, the slower the game loads. So I guess you're supposed to have a master file of mods you want to have access to, then load them up as needed to fire up the game. It's inside the game that you set up your graphics and stuff to determine how well your mods get drawn and displayed.
I've done a fair amount of reading on Mods Garden lately and agree the community is not the healthiest...or funnest. Lots of code jockeying and infomraiton hoarding instead of welcoming and onboarding newbies. Just came across this place, ya'll are already more helpful and informative than MG.
That said, the TK4chRepack linked on Pg 9, post #175 by divneProportions has a VERY helpful readme that is helping me to navigate the game it came with very well. Uninstall whatever you've got, download that, and start from there and I think it will make a lot more sense.
When it is time to add clothes or poses, here is a very succinct summary of what kinds of files need to be copied to what directories:
Searching through MG will turn up a LOT of custom stuff. I'm aware note verything works well together, I think that's just part of the game. So best bet seems to be to get used to handling the game as downloaded above, then pick a single customization (say, a pair of shoes) and get that to work for you. Then slowly build out from there.
Damn the learning curve on this for non-tech folks is steep.

tk 17 runs fine on hook5 wiht my pc but when i want to record a video and render it to a more workable format like avi it the resolution and video quality in general of the recorded video in avi format is fucking hazily horrible. Can anyone tell me if it's something to do with my PC or whether im just recording things wrong. Ive attached screenshot of the recorded video and one of the in game recording process. 304 is recorded video. 305 is while recording it. Any help/suggestions would mean alot to me. Thanks
Hi, I got a problem! While Im trying to open the game, the error shows up: "archives not found" and when I close then appear secound error: "error executing tk17-114.001.exe". Is anybody here can help me (win10 if you want to know)?
Nope, it still doesn't work. Version from Thrixxx work perfectly fine and version from torrent doesn't. Any other sugestions?
Are you talking about the V10 version? If so, that mod is still in Beta testing.

For any other Linux folks out there who may be curious about this - I just gave it a try with DXVK (the D3D11 library) in Wine, seems even then Hook5 doesn't work. But the game itself ran just fine, just a shame that it can't benefit from the graphics enhancements. If any of you give it a go and find a way to make Hook5 work in that setup, be sure to let us know here.
I'm not sure if this question was asked before, but is it legal to make a commercial (patreon) visual novel with tk17 and its mods ?

It's probably a gray area, similar to those made with Illusion games like Honey Select. As long as you stick to just using renders and aren't directly sharing their assets as part of your game distribution, it's highly unlikely you will run into issues. But you're always taking a bit of a risk of them coming after you with intimidation tactics to shut you down, but they haven't done that to anyone yet. If you are extra paranoid, you can just avoid using any of the vanilla assets that come with the base game and stick to community provided mod content, most of the best stuff will come from there anyhow.

@Goshavyn456 Thanks for that, now I'm starting to suspect that the issue may be that Solus doesn't have the Vulkan stuff setup properly, since I can't find that smoketest utility mentioned in that thread for checking Vulkan support. From what I can tell everything necessary is installed and I'm running a GTX 750 ti card which is old but definitely supported by Vulkan, so no idea what is going on.
I've been planning to switch back to Manjaro for a while now, since the Solus guys keep shooting down a lot of my package requests and I don't want to keep using a distro that forces me to manually track and build like over a half dozen packages I need on a regular basis that nearly every other major distro already provides. So this is kinda the last straw if they can't even get something fundamental - like graphics support - worked out properly. I've got no reason to keep dealing with all the other hassles that come with this kinda shitty distro. I liked the idea of a stable rolling release distro that only pushes out updates every 2 weeks or so, but they half-ass so damn much along the way that the negatives outweigh the benefits more often then not.

hi i cant run the klub 17 on directx mode, it gives the error(directx8 or higher not found,direct3d create render error) although i have installed directx 9 2010 but still the same issue

Those folks getting the error message about DirectX 8 or higher not installed ... are you trying to run the game using Hook 5 Patreon version?

Hi y'all
I have figured out that the Rick Version R9X has a much high graphic performance then the original game have,but it's to hard to figured out,how the guys did it.I try by myself several times to do it like the guides toldt me,but i cant deal with it,i need a programm to open or set a txx. folder,otherwise there are conflicts with the mods or hooks.So now why i writing these.Can pls 1 of u guys make me a tutorial or set the overworked version from R9x into F95 pls.This Game is just awesome n Ineed the help from the F95 community course U guys are just skilled n can almost every problem solved .Sry for my english i hope it isn't not to worst English is not my native language.
