How could I know? I'm sure it was someone who knew what he was doing though. No one is that stupid, so whoever did this definitely wanted to be found out (maybe to make people think the developer was the culprit and damage him).
You don't know but yet you immediately chalk it up to some conspiracy with...what as the desired result exactly? Occam's razor says this is a fuck up in a shill attempt, put forth at the exact time a dev makes an extremely questionable and recurrently unpopular move with an almost 100% track record of ending in a failed project. I also can't help but notice the dev only replying to posts trying to dismiss what happened, basically going "yes yes, that must it " when the natural thing would be to immediately address the posts calling it out. It's as if it is being addressed in some other platform other than this one. An instant 5 star review is already weird, especially one singing praises for the gameplay not being clunky when it's the exact same shit.

Saying all of this is extremely suspicious is the understatement of the century.

It's just my guess. An hypothesis. I never claimed it to be 100% true. You're free to ignore it if you don't believe it.
Also, calling it a cospiracy looks a bit exaggerated to me.

Anyway, if I have to be honest, the comments after mine are quite strange. Expecially the one "Grand Hell" made. He claimed that the other two copy pasted his review with the grammatical errors , but he didn't do the same grammatical errors actually (he wrote improved correctly). And as I was stalking both VB and the bots, I noticed they were never online at the same moment. Could be a coincidence or not. Who knows.

I still think it would be way too dumb to copy paste reviews like this. So if I had to bet, I would bet on my "conspiracy" hypothesis.

I don't know what else you would call it besides that.

And about it being too dumb...You'd be surprised how often it happens:
Clones.jpg

It goes hand in hand with having no respect for the people they profit from. This it's exactly how fake people (and I'm not talking about the bots here) usually fall into this trap.

So I gave it a try and for a demo it was fine. I think is played better than the original which I tried and had lots of issues with.

With that said I have some feedback.
1) When you first get out of the cell I was attacked before I could get to the first chest so had no option to actual fight the guard. Perhaps make it so he is further away so you always have time to open the chest and get your weapons.

2) I will echo what some others said, a character creation option so we can make a character look the way we want would be very welcome.

3) Instead of when defeated you get a option, why not just always have the guards take advantage then take the MC back to the cell and then you break out again with all the progress saved or once the guard finishes you have the option to attack them at once again. Giving the guard a big debuff after the sex act.

4) add variety to the guards, right now they all look exactly the same, I think they are meant to be half orcs by what was said in the game, but I would make them look more orcish like in LoTR etc and add variety to the guards.

now some possible suggestions.
1) I found what happened to the male elf interesting, perhaps having the game start the same for the MC could be a option.

2) Clothes pulled aside is interesting and then you have to fix them. But why not take it further and have clothes/armor damaged when hit or when you lose a fight. Then you not only have to readjust them but also as they take damage they get holes or become unusable until you take time to repair them. Which could be stuff you can loot, similar to how a lot of games have a crafting system.

3) adding a inventory system

Anyways just some quick feedback.
Thanks for your feedback.
1) Agreed. I think to turn him back to Barbarian and add ability to do one hit kill like it was in the DS style games
2) Planned. ANswered here earlier. Customization is not a problem. Bigger challange is auto adjust scenes for different bodymorphs without critical model intersections
3) Sounds good. But I can't tell you straigtly, will I do this ir not. I need to think about it.
4) Ye, I was thinking to add skin variations for them, like scars, tattoos, dirt etc. ANd maybe some accessories for outfit

5) Making her futa is als possible. But I need to deal with 2 point firstly.
6) Clothes destroying is planned. Crafting - nope atm.

I hope this game will have more RPG elements, like equipment selection and variability, level upgrading, variable skills, more interaction/conversation with NPCs...

Let’s stop all the fuss over questionable reviews hitting the fan.

I didn’t create this topic, nor did I ask for it to be created. I don’t understand what in my actions is raising suspicions.

I’ve been discussing the project’s migration to UE5 with my audience for over a year now. Before this demo, I released two others (they didn’t appear here).
I don’t believe the project is doomed to fail. I already have a developed universe with a complete storyline and a fairly large audience (by the standards of this type of project), though it’s outdated and technically limited. All I want to do is bring the visual and technical aspects to a more modern, appealing level. If you’re not a fan of my work, that’s up to you—I understand if it’s not your preferred type of content.

As for the reviews, I’ve opened a support ticket about them, so I’ll leave it up to the moderators to decide what to do.

Stealth_Meister So, with your review you said you cannot attack. There are 2 things you need to do to attack, get the axes by interacting with the chest outside your cell. Then you need to press R to draw / holster them. This is actually in the first post, in the developer notes.

Viktor, care to give us some thoughts on your transition to UE, have your original workflows changed any with UE? (for the better I hope...?)

I liked The Last Barbarian but didn't liked playing it because it was full of annoying bugs. I hope this remaster would be better.
When did you last try it? It has gotten quite bug free when I played the latest build at least for me I no longer encountered bugs at least nothing noticeable

It is still a bit yank though due to the engine limitations

That aside, OMG I CANNOT BELIEVE we are getting a new Last Barbarian game in Unreal!!! YESSSSSS It looks so good. Massive fan of the Last Barbarian (it is even in my signature!) and knowing this dev's track record this will be a game he will stick with and develop into a substantial experience

Last Barbarian has grown to become such a massive game. A solid 10-20 hour experience to see all content now I think

The early h-content in Last Barbarian might be a bit off putting but honestly stick with it, it gets better as you get further in the game and also bear in mind you don't just have combat sex but you have a lot of hidden events, quest events and side quest events. Some events are also initiated by very specific actions. All in all a lot of variety and replayability to see all the content

Honestly what puts me off of it is how incomplete it feels. Like the framework is there, but everything feels underdeveloped. I do hope this remake will fix a lot of the issues with it.

Viktor, care to give us some thoughts on your transition to UE, have your original workflows changed any with UE? (for the better I hope...?)
Pros of new workflow
  • I have the opportunity to work with Control Rig, which means I can configure, create, and adjust animations with a greater degree of freedom. I've tried many approaches in Unity, including creating animations in Maya and using paid assets for Unity that add animation capabilities within the engine. But to be honest, I constantly encountered a lot of issues that slowed down development and/or caused me to lose a significant amount of time. Now, I have a full-fledged animation tool within UE that I can fully customize for my specific needs.
  • Working with lighting. This is something I love about UE. Lightmass quickly and efficiently bakes lighting on the scene. All I need to do is set up reflections and adjust visual effects, which saves time.
  • Working with materials in UE is a breakthrough compared to Unity. Yes, Unity has Shader Graph, but this tool has been available in UE for a long time and works better. For two years, I tried to implement cum appearance on the skin in Unity. In the end, I realized that I either had to sacrifice performance or animate each scene manually. Overall, I couldn’t achieve a result that satisfied me. In UE, I finally have that capability.
  • This also adds the ability to layer effects on the barbarian's skin, like dirt, sweat, tattoos, and custom makeup—all using native tools without hacks.
  • Continuing on the topic of native tools. I love UE for its structured approach to creating mechanics. Yes, both engines are object-oriented, but working with Blueprints makes the process of understanding logic easier and more visually intuitive than classic coding.

    And finally, UE runs faster.

I played the original demo for the first game and it was promising because it focused on Dark Souls combat and challenging gameplay
then it turned into a walksim gallery finder because of patreons if I remember right

kinda expect the same sort of thing here

I mentioned in the release notes that the controller support will be available in the next updates as well as remapping keys. Thanks to UE input system it's possible to do with no problems
And the arbitrary 62 fps lock? I haven't seen a "gaming" monitor in the last decade sold that wasn't at least 144 fps+, 165-240 became the standard long ago.
