This game is great, but I feel sadly its never going to be finished, its impossible, the Dev is beyond the pale ambitious and ambitiousness has killed so many games on this site, trying to make completely separate storylines within the same game, its going to take ages for the narrative to advance with the Dev having to perpetually advanced each of those storylines one at a time.

Why make all those other storylines if the name of the game is 'The Last Challenge'? It feel outside of the original storyline, that theme is going to be forced on the backburned as those other storylines will keep the MC away from home to some degree. Also the delay to the advancement of the narrative is going to be so utterly painful, in time its going to be likely a couple years wait between updates to all the individual storylines.

What I feel should happen is the Dev should put those plans on the backburned and just proceed with the original storyline, and when they'll be done with it, they can go on to recreate the other storylines with different MCs and their own specific games or at least even if they keep the same MC as alternate 'what if' stories just at least give each their own game to avoid the inevitable out of control game size growth.

if we're to take dev at his word - the reason for circumnavigating was to build up cash so he could then acquire the vast library of assets required for the post-apocalyptic city return on the bus.

Myself I remain unconvinced, as I said before there are ways to make it work though creatively shooting scenes, going on side quests on the trip home without starting up 3 new stories (and practically new character universes)

The problem is if he intend to get that cash from the game, he won't succeed, people are more likely to pay up if he finish a game to begin with, on the other hand if they see him just delaying they'll just drop him. So if he intend for the game to pay for itself, he is making a huge mistake by being so ambitious. If instead his intent is to save up from his job income, its a better justification, in that case his delay could earn him enough time to get the money, but even if that is the case after he buy those assets he should absolutely focus on the original storyline and put the rest on standby, the game is going to sink if their is too much wait time to advance the narrative.

He works full time in other job, this has never been his only option to get money for the assets. So sit your ass down and wait or leave. I don't really care which one you do.

absolutely. this dev is way too ambitious and does not have a sense of how much development time it would take to create the game from start to finish. Even with just the bus passengers storyline, it would take 3+ maybe closer to 5 years of development time. and now he's making route B, and route C.

I think with every release the game would attract new subscribers but at a certain point, people might drop it from their game list.

*sits around laughing at "he NEEDS money for assets" discussion on a piracy forum*
some of us are potential patrons. its just f95 is where everyone is around and general forum is a better place for discussions than specific dev's discord servers. So ppl discuss things here

Wait....

I just started playing this game for the first time and the game ended after about an hour. Are you telling me that's all the content this game has after being in development for 2 years?

It ended with them finally arriving at their destination? Jesus either i have a mod installed thats not updated and blocking content or there's no content in this game. At the current rate its going to take 20 years for this game to be completed.

The bus route that ends at their destination is still from the very first update,
when you have done this, you have the second route ( the army route )..
If a game needs to have branching paths this early its never going to get completed. I can't imagine that path being longer then an hour either so im just going to ignore this game for the next 6 years, hopefully by then it will have actual content to playthrough.

While I do like the idea of branching storylines based on choices, I do hope that there will be some converging points so that the overall story doesn't become too convoluted. I honestly got lost a few times making different choices. lol

He's a fantastic writer. I have no qualms about the story, even the fat best friend had me cracking up laughing but i felt like the dev spends more time on the animations and sex scenes then the actual story and i'm assuming that is what's eating up all of the development time.

After i completed my initial playthrough i was going to donate because this was like some top tier shit and i loved it but then i came to this thread and saw that it came out in 2023 and realized that there's just not enough content for a game that launched 2 years ago and i just can't get behind projects that will take 10 years to complete which is where this game is headed.

Another thing. That ending was great, my headcannon tells me they should just turn around and head back to school and live as one big family. :ROFLMAO:

I'm not sure how much the developer is currently making already from this game. but let us not forget here what mainly speeds up or could speed up the process to a game's development such as this one, is with people contributing to its development even if it's at the bare minimum of doing so..

But with that said, still keep in mind that regardless of what or who's game it may be that u choose to being a paid supporter to, & or how much it is ur paying or had paid to support it, u will always be taking a gamble with how long, far or fast it all takes when it comes down to how a games whole development process (especially its full completion date) goes to actually wind up being..

Now of course, this is along with many other gambles that one takes when supporting a game with high expectations like this one, but this is just to name a few of the biggest, if not 'The' few biggest things to consider here, in a way of as a simple reminder. Just so that those who are either complaining about, or considering, or just a little worried on rather or not if being a paid supporter of this game's development process is even worth it; know that it's always an "U never know" (if u will) for sure - kind of gamble that ur going to be taking, because of those already said main key gambling factors of becoming a paid supporter to something has. No matter how much money, trust, or work ethic the maker or makers of whatever it is ur a contributing supporter of has made. even if they had already proven themselves worthy of ur support or not had, there will still be no guarantee...

Just saying!!

1000%
finish one main storyline and call it 1.0, then begin another branch and ask folks to support development. writing and animating story spaghetti is an incredible challenge, start small and iterate.

It was entertaining, but it seems a bit short for two years. The developer is very clever, giving you multiple choices with the cleaning lady and then taking you on a great trip down memory lane with your friends.

It seems like the kind of game that will take a decade to complete, if they don't abandon it along the way. It's a shame, I would have liked to see Heidi grown up again, and Ji-yeon.

Not sure why but i enjoyed this strangely short game, it's too bad that most of the interesting games i actually want to play/watch end so unexpectedly and so quickly. This one has a really weird storyline but i dig it.
