There's no shame in deciding something grows too big. If you have so much other things in life, it's best to cut what drains you. I'd suggest, maybe, you can just store whatever you have so far, files, ideas and all, and not wipe it completely. Maybe one day you look back and decide to waste a month or three on it again.
