Huh, I just downloaded the Compressed version and I get exactly the same thing. (unlikely to have any difference between compressed and normal archive).
Weird... i must investigate further....
Ahh, so what has happened is that the developer has created the game with the default text in spanish. And then added an English translation in "tl/eng". Unfortunately in that folder none of the built-in engine text lines have translation text provided, only the game content.
Boby Boo you should include a translation file for the tl/eng/common.rpym file. i've attached one from a english-based game which should "just work", replace the existing broken file in the tl/eg/ folder with the one i provided. (note that it is in an archive because f95 only allows some file extensions)
Anyway, to fix your problem in the short term 
CutieLvr:
1. go main menu.
2. select spanish language from the icons at the bottom left
3. then open the Accessiblity menu with Shift-A
4. Disable the high contrast mode
