Game abandoned for making a Futa game? How to answer that....

You are not Futa fans.
Rudimentary creatures of blood and flesh, you touch my mind, fumbling in ignorance, incapable of understanding.
There is a sexual genre so far beyond your own fetish you cannot even imagine it. We are beyond your comprehension. We are Futa Fans.
Futa is Gay? A label created by the Vanillafags to give voice to their destruction. In the end, what they chose to call us is irrelevant. We simply... are.

All other fetishes are nothing but a genetic mutation, an accident. Your game development times are measured in years and decades. You abandon projects and die. We are eternal, the pinnacle of sexual evolution and fetishes. Before us, you are nothing. Your extinction is inevitable. We are the end of everything.

The pattern has repeated itself more times than you can fathom. Other fetishes rise, evolve, advance, and at the apex of their glory they are fucked by lady cock. The Furries were not the first. They did not create the Sandbox. They did not forge the Visual Novel. They merely found them - the legacy of my kind.

Your fetishes are based on the technology of the Futa genre. Our technology. By using it, your fetish develops along the paths we desire. We impose order on the chaos of other fetishes. You exist because we allow it, and you will end because we demand it.

My kind transcends your very understanding. We are each a nation - independent, free of all weakness. You cannot grasp the nature of our existence. We have no beginning. We have no end. We are infinite. Millions of years after your fetish has been eradicated and forgotten, we will endure. We are legion. The time of our return is coming. Our numbers will darken the sky of every world. You cannot escape your doom. Your words are as empty as your future. We are the Vanguard of your destruction. This exchange is over...

For those unaware, I'm paraphrasing Sovereigns speech from Mass Effect for comedic value.

No waaaayy. I buy the game 5 days ago...
And its abandoned? Tell me of bad luck. xD
You could also try submitting a ticket and hoping for a friendly human agent willing to refund it if it's after the refund date.
If not, they're just out of money becuase they put warning labels on it.

I was in the same place as you for a different game that hasn't been updated in two and a half years, after the developer kept posting monthly renders and excuses, and I got someone to refund me.

Deflecting without actually engaging with what's been said—like a few others here—doesn’t really add much to the discussion. If you agree or disagree, I’d rather hear the reasoning behind it.
It seems to me that you are avoiding questions that are inconvenient.
Do you have any intention of removing this game from Steam? Continuing to sell an unfinished game with no plan to complete it is hardly different from fraudulent behavior.

The game is not sold as an overpriced, unfinished Early Access title. It’s listed as Season 1, priced reasonably and the store page clearly outlines exactly what content is included. What you see in the about section is what you get.

While active development has stopped — it’s been mentioned in reviews and community discussions. Ultimately, it’s up to each customer to decide whether the existing content is worth purchasing based on that information.

If you feel the purchase didn’t meet your expectations, Steam’s refund system exists for that reason, and I’d encourage you to use it.

It has already been more than two weeks, so a refund is no longer possible.
And while Season 1 may be “completed,” that does not mean the overall story has been concluded in a proper beginning–middle–end structure.
How is this any different from a game whose development was halted midway through Early Access?
Is the fact that development has been discontinued clearly stated on the Steam store page?
It says “Season 1,” but does it explicitly state that no further episodes will be developed and that the project has been stopped?

It's too early to give a full opinion, but the story seems good. The visuals and music/effects are very good, the presence of sci-fi in such games adds a different atmosphere. Even if it was a demo, it would be nice if we could at least see the main character (I think he is male). I'm looking forward to the seque.

Just finished the the update and I will add on that wihile this games seems to fall into the prior mentioned fairly cruel futadom the scenes where pretty damn hot.
The games futa on male scenes focuses a lot on sph/comparison something I have not seen in any game really except a single line or two in Star Periphery if I recall correctly, so you got a niche there.

The story though? Still a hot mess lmao.
But hey dev if you are doing another project you got a niche and nice renders down so there is that.

If development has effectively stopped and the project has been abandoned, then it should be removed from Steam.

Many Steam users are not aware that this game is no longer being actively developed. Allowing people to purchase a game that will never be completed causes real harm to customers. If users knew in advance that development had been discontinued, they would not buy it.

Selling an unfinished game with no intention of completion is misleading, and it should not be left on the store as if it were an active project.

I would not have purchased this game if I had known it would end up being abandoned like this.
Although your words are true, I wouldn't be so critical as to completely Delete the game from Steam.

What needs to be done is to tag it as "early access", rather than leave it as a complete game or what was it - "season 1 complete".

This is the same, effectively, but connotations for author are less offensive.

The developer announced that they were abandoning development on January 1st. At that time, it had not yet been two weeks since I purchased the game, so I would have been eligible for a refund.
The problem is that this announcement was made only on their Patreon. There was no mention of it on Steam at all. If the developer had even posted a notice in the game’s Steam community, I would have refunded it immediately. Most people would not buy a game if they knew it had been abandoned.
That is precisely why the developer is not disclosing this on Steam. They are deliberately staying silent there in order to extract whatever remaining revenue they can from users who are unaware that the game has been abandoned. How is that any different from fraud?
If they want to continue selling the game, they must also post a clear announcement on Steam stating that development has been abandoned. And the store page itself should clearly and visibly indicate that this is a discontinued project.
Selling the game without doing so is equivalent to scamming customers.
No—it is scamming.

Since this discussion is getting long and could lead to a warning, I will stop here on this topic.
To sum it up, I can understand a developer wanting to earn revenue from something they worked hard to create. However, I believe it is wrong to deliberately remain silent and continue generating profit from a game that has been abandoned.

Unlucky. I really liked this game. Welp, If the dev does end up seeing this, I'd like them to know that they make really good sexual scenes. There are very few AVNs that have characters that actually feel like they are fucking. This isn't a critique of the animation in most AVNs either.

Usually sex scenes are just 2 or more characters going through a position checklist until they finish. The scenes in those games lack intention, emotion(whether love, anger, frustration etc). I really enjoyed and can feel the human emotion within this game and hope you continue making content if you still enjoy doing so.

I'd love to see what you make in the future

If I'm reading right the Dev has decided to stop the game and start a new project focused on futa. Honestly good for them that they figured it out. i felt it while playing the game there was an obvious difference in care and quality between the futa/futadom content and the dom male content. I felt they wanted to do that from playing the game. The implementation and advertisement of dom/sub and straight/non-straight just felt badly executed because one side obviously had more heart to put in it while the other side felt like a spit in the face in comparison.

Honestly the difference between how the two were treated was irritating and a bad experience if you wanted the other part of the story. It felt half assed and disrespectful to one part of the playerbase over the other. I wish the dev luck in their futa game and hope it goes well for them.

Yes. You are right. I am with you on that one.

But there is a thing, that modern games taught me: "Never buy an Early Access game".

Also, there is the second rule: "If you see an indie game leave EA, check the updates. Most probably, you will have to wait another year for a finished product".

In view of this, the Steam page, clearly, doesn't state the necessary details.
On the other hand, it never will.

I am around 70% done with this game and, frankly, the first 30% were drastically different from the last 70% and I don't like it one bit.
---------
So...
Will your/mine proposals help others?
Yes.

Will they keep others from playing past 2 hours mark?
Probably, no.

Conclusion?
Don't sweat it.

It is what it is. The best we can do is leave a review here or on Steam (in your case).

I think even within the futa genre, there are a good number of people completely turned off by the "futas only think with their dicks" trope combined with the "mc is limp wristed bitchboi made for futa cocks" trope. Not that sissification and femdom isn't a popular enough subgenre.

In my anecdotal experience talking to my own supporters, it's great when the futas are actual people with personalities outside of their 15 inch dicks, and don't treat the mc like garbage. Futadom is kind of its own thing, but you can usually satisfy people by having at least one dominant futa, who is ultimately still compelling as a character. Ironically, I hate sissification, but enjoy crossdressing. In games. Not in real life...

That said, futa fans are in a perpetual state of dehydration so they're usually willing to give anything with futa in it a shot at minimum, with your mileage varying as to whether they'll stick around after seeing the implementation.

Anywho, this game had really great renders so it's a shame to see it go, but you've got the talent to make your next project successful so I look forward to seeing where it takes you, and hope your new and growing futa fanbase treats you well.
I have to agree with you, it's become quite common that if there's a futa character, it often is given that type of personality.
I can't really say that I'm a fan of futa, I usually don't look for it, but I have found some futa characters in some games that I actually ended up liking more than I expected, albeit they were more feminine in behaviour and personality - Oh, and they had something else which I've noticed is missing a lot lately, a vagina.
That has honestly become one of my biggest let-downs with futa characters, is that for some reason some devs just don't give them a vagina, just tits and dick.. That's either a trans or a trap character. The way I understood the futa category when I first discovered it, it meant it was a character with both genitalia, not just one of them. Personally I just loose interest when it's not a true futa character, but that's just me, I'm sure there are tons of people out there who feels differently.
