Great news! I was really looking forward to more of the story, whenever that's ready. Glad to see you're still passionate about the game, even if real life is fighting you right now.
Oh awesome. I'm really glad this isn't abandoned. I don't use discord personally. So I wouldn't have seen any discord posts, but I'm very glad to hear this. So many games are being abandoned or just completely ignored. I'm perfectly fine with waiting for an update as long as it is coming eventually. Especially for a game I really did enjoy like this one.
I don't know what is going on in real life for you, but with the current situation of the Pandemic (depending where you are, not sure if its not in some countries) and all. I hope everything is well by you and I hope whatever needs to be gotten together, it'll come in time! Real life always comes first.

I'm not really sure where that leaves this game. I guess it could technically still be On Hold, but it doesn't sound like PG is actively working on The Magister's Tale. I'm glad PG is still working on adult games, but I'm not sure this game is still paused only. I haven't seen anything more on the Discord server since the April 2020 post I previously added to this thread. That said, the Twitter bio still lists this game as what he's working on, so IDK.

Gonna be honest here, dev needs to step it up with communications. Last patreon post was in December 2019. Twitter, seems to be re-tweeting other devs games sporadically. Discord is a pain in the ass for a lot of people for many reasons. Patreon takes 10 sec to log in and say something, anything. Last sighting on this site from the Dev was back in August. It's been well over a year since the last update with no hint of anything at all in sight. I'ts sad I liked the start of the game then it just died. TLDR communications are shit.

True it's pretty shit, there's no update currently. Still not abandoned btw no matter how many times they try and mark it as such.
I would rather not update until the release is ready, I feel like anything less than that is unacceptable personally. You could disagree with that call, but at that point it's just a differing opinion. I'd rather people not become patrons until a new release is out especially with the way patron is set up I can't switch to a pledge by release page.
I actually check this site almost once everyday. I don't feel like it's correct for me as a dev to comment on other people's games so I usually don't, sometimes I react to something and even then I'm like should I have liked that thing, as a dev? Maybe I should allow my online status in the privacy settings, idk.
With Covid, it wasn't exactly a good time to work on the game for me. I actually expected to ramp up game production in October/November after certain state benefits ran out which meant I could legally work on it without losing money, then I was sick for a while and just two days ago my motherboard seems to be failing in my laptop, which technically I can use my desktop to make images, it's a just a slower process until I save the funds I expect it to take to repair my laptop. Again though still not abandoned. I wouldn't consider this game abandoned until you hear it from me.
So TLDR, I'll be incognito until the release is ready, and then there will be a glorious re-release campaign, and then communication will pick up at that point. I usually stick to the old adage, no news is good news, so don't think it's abandoned until I say it is, which won't happen.

Yeah I'm doing well thanks for asking, hope you're doing well also. My laptop motherboard is still shot, so until I get the money for that saved up can't do too much work on the game unfortunately but it'll get there hopefully sometime in the next two months or so I can get it looked at and fixed by the micro repair specialists

In other news, the hunt for a not completely overpriced graphics card is till ongoing. I was thinking long and hard about the micro repair thing for my laptop, two issues with that. I don't know how much it will cost until I send it in, and two I don't know if them fixing the problem will actually hold. I'm uncertain as to what caused the short in the motherboard, and if I fix it for it to only happen again, that would suck.
So the better option in my mind, is just to upgrade my desktop with a better graphics card. Currently it can barely function with DAZ3D let alone rendering. I would really only need to upgrade that, and that is potentially the cheaper option out of micro-repair motherboard, and get a better graphics card. Unfortunately with all the shit going on in the world, ie the graphics card shortage due to a certain event, everyone thinks their used graphics card should be worth double what it is, rather than half the price and acquiring even a reasonably priced one is proving rather difficult. I'm looking at all the normal places, just waiting for someone to put a reasonable deal up.
