Yep, nostalgia on full power here. This was (is) an amazing game, be it then or now. Of course, since it's written and flows so well, it leaves you hungering for more.

Unfortunate that it ends where it does, but it remains a glorious example and inspiration for creative writing within ze pr0n game genre.

I think you must be thinking of someone else. I'm pretty sure nobody in my life has ever accused me before of being even a simple feminist, never mind an ultra feminist. I am all for political/legal equality for women though.
I'm tempted to reply to this with what little I remember about the page saying that you were not going to continue. But I'm not the kind of person to start an argument so I'm just going to drop it and say that I do like the game.

Thanks for bringing this back in the light, forgot this game existed and was one of the first I'd experienced. Sad to see it still unfinished, but I'm sure I'm going to enjoy taking a look again.

I think i played this while i still thought i was cis/hetro lol
You wouldn't be the only one! Very common occurrence with the userbase of TF gamesite. I remember reading one game dev there (not this one I don't think) announcing that they were taking a break from writing their game because they realized while writing their game that they were trans so they took time off go through transitioning.

Yeah, the site is super popular with people who are leaning in a trans/other LGBT direction but don't really realize it. Lots of "Oh no, I was forced against my will to be bi, become a woman, etc" The sissy lifesim game is the biggest genre there, and that's just a transwoman power fantasy kind of thing.
Every so often there's debates about if that content is really TF at all but it never goes anywhere. Frankly, it doesn't bother me but it does make what games get lots of likes... oddly distributed haha.

I remember this from years ago. It was a good TWINE game. Lots of different paths and outcomes. Sadly abandoned.

I never ever thought about why Life Sims Games are so common among Games with a Transformation Fantasy focus, but that comment about trans women or trans people in general makes a lot of sense. Having the "Living a daily life" aspect seems to be quite important. Maybe that is why I often don't care about the Life Sim part or even get annoyed by it.

The Booth Babe dev abandoned her game when she transitioned. I remember her posting on tfgamessite that now that she transitioned, she no longer needed the transformation "fantasy".

I vaguely remember that as well. It was a very popular game. Sadly, don't remember the title anymore...

Shame on me for not reading all the way to the newest comment. The game was/is called Booth Babe. Perhaps I should post that one here as well, although it has much less content than The Masculine Mystique...

I loved this game, the writing was fantastic and it was all so hot. A huge shame it wasn't finished.

Booth Babe was hot. I would have liked to have seen where it would have ended up if Karen had finished it. But for the many reasons that devs have abandoned games, her finding happiness in the really real life was one of the better ones, and I am glad for her.

I also found that at the time it was quite unique that you had a character who's liking of you was inverse to his respect for you. Your young, alpha coworker either respected you or had the hots for you. I had been very interested to what different kinds of endings that could have let to.

And the link for those wondering what we are talking about ;)

Is it hard to build a game in twine for someone with no experience because as good as this game is, I might want to continue making it just so I can continue the story.

No. Start with youtube and some tutorial videos on Twine and Sugarcube 2 and take it from there. Writing is the talent as barabbas demonstrates. Write a story yourself so you get the mechanics and see where it takes you. The tutorials will show you how to handle simple variables. All the best with the project!

Yeah, I had the impression that Twine (at least when having not too complex stories with too many variables) is one of the easier ways of making an interactive story. The main issue to overcome when making Twine games is the quality of the writing. That being said, I have no experience to back this up so I might be wrong.

To second some of the other replies, Twine's probably the easiest thing to get a game running in, short of just stuffing together some Unity asset packs; There's a reason why there's so many real-porn HTML games on here made in TWINE. My only major complaint with it is that it's a little too basic on its own, and I don't think you actually gain much from trying to extend the engine in javascript or w/e, but that's probably beyond what you need to care about right now.

I would suggest at least trying your own mini-story before getting going with trying to extend this though. You can also load up existing stories in the editor and have some idea of how people set them out. I would recommend that with something a lot simpler though; partly because TMM is fairly big, but also because it doesn't quite load up right in the editor and just dumps you with a mass of muddled-up passages, and it can be a headache working out where to start if you're a novice.

This game is great in its unfished state.
Hate the title though, the biggest reason I never tried it before.

You don't like the title? I was quite proud of it when I came up with it. But I was thinking of appropriateness to the story, not whether it would grab people's interest or not. (Which honestly is probably what one should be thinking of when coming up with a title. If I had written it in today's amateur porn game environment rather than in 2012, perhaps I would have given that more thought.)
