Just played through this for the first time

Visually looks great, animations look great, dialogue feels pretty natural and I've been writing a VN about overcoming grief (but gone in a completely direction to this VN), but there's a bit of overlap.

All the LIs are written really well, but visually Hailey is the only that interests me visually, the other two main girls aren't ugly or look bad, just not for me.

I really enjoyed my time with this, will be keeping up with it going forward. Appreciate the ability to skip the prologue too

not gonna lie Ella's sister is one of the few redheads im not interested in because of her name , and relation to Ella. To me it just feels wrong because of how it could bring bad bad memories for the MC.

Double combo looks like his wife has his daughters name. Think MC would break.

Man, for me, Lisa's line along with the image of her looking at the falling rain through the window (and this scene happens after the doctor tells MC about Maddie) was the quintessence of the entire prologue, it so perfectly encapsulated the feelings I was having at that moment. You couldn't miss that too, right?

Chapter 3 - Progress update #9


As you can probably see, some of the bars in the top section of the progress report have moved. When I started I quickly realised that this chapter was going to be bigger than all the previous ones, so I adjusted my production planning slightly. Since the friend who does the proofreading for me also does this in his spare time without pay, I split the chapter for him to give him the greatest possible freedom in his time planning. I worked a few extra hours the last production week to complete the playtesting and editing for labels 1-9, so I could hand over the game to him. In other words, someone is already playing Chapter 3 - at least the first part of it. This should prevent any backlog due to the size of the chapter, meaning I won't have to wait long for corrections from the proofreading once I'm done with rendering.

I had to export the dialogues for proofreading, which made me curious about something, so I checked it. My first draft of this chapter was initially 31000 words long. It's now a little over 38000. It just keeps happening...

Apart from that, it was another problem-free production week for me; nothing special to report.

This game took me completely by surprise. I didn't really read about it beforehand, so I wasn't expecting such an emotional rollercoaster. I thought Leap of Faith had some really emotional and sad moments, but this game is on a different level altogether. I can't wait for the next chapter.

This week I began the announced back-and-forth jumping between labels. Label 11 is close to done up until the beginning of the first animation. Since this scene will probably be the most complex, I'm going to save it for last.
I've also finished the end of the chapter and the extended ending based on an earlier decision in the game. Next are labels 15 and 13, which are short and long, respectively. After that, the hard part starts for me with label 12 and the two animated scenes. Progress will slow down from there on as posing will become more time consuming. I estimate one more productive month for static renders, after which I will move on to the animations. By then, the first proofread version should be available, so I can implement the changes while the renders for the animations are running.
After label 13, I will have finished most of the content that I can share with you without revealing too many spoilers, so I either go back to purely text based updates by then or just pause them until I'm done for 2-3 weeks. I haven't decided on that yet.

The advantages of a person who sets a goal, develops a plan to achieve it, and focuses on working according to the plan and not getting distracted by all sorts of irrelevant nonsense. And if in addition to this the author is talented - we're in for the treat of enjoying something like The Missing Part.
