Honestly, we need more Aerion content, I hope to see more about the Grant's culture and their relation towards the MC at the Ball, which will probably be next year. Her being seemingly very innocent or reacting strongly to all the teasing towards her or the MC is a very endearing quality.

The only character that has yet to convince me is Fiadh, and I have no doubt the dev will give her enough topics of interest to get me on board.

I do wonder what Cadwgan's role in the story will be, someone to point out the MC's flaws to work on them, sort of as a "I wonder what this story would look like from another perspective".

I'd honestly like to see Cadwgan's role become something akin to an advisor. Someone that, no matter what, is gonna tell Rane when he's fucking up or going the wrong way. I imagine that their "friendship", should one ever form, would be a bit antagonistic, but it could progress to a point that they at least respect and trust each other.

Too often in AVN's the 'male friend' turns into a gimmick. The character is there to do stupid shit, or just as comic relief, instead of just a proper friend. I don't really see Cadwgan being the comic relief, but who knows, maybe he moonlights as a stand up comedian.

Cad seems to be there primarily to give Rane a dose of reality. Cerys, Aine, and Anwen undersold how severe of an effect Rane had after disappearing, but Cad didn't mince words when pointing out how severely he hurt Cerys in doing so.

Additionally, the scene in the Part 3 release plays out differently if we crush Cerys's heart in that he states his intentions in making Rane's life difficult. Cad isn't inherently evil, but rather protective of his family when dealing with those he personally doesn't like.

Maybe he's this games "Derek" in the making. And we're going to end up as best pals (if the player goes that route). Either that or he's going to be a Judas figure later down the line, and be a rat or something. I'm down for either version honestly. (y)

Do we know if the Silouettes/schemes in the codex (Unknown Orran, Handler, SOU Director, Eamonn, Cyril) )are the actual models of future characters or could they be diversion (such as the Handler being an already existing character)?

I won't comment on the latest hubbub, as a lot of what had to be said was said on all sides and etc.

I will say this though - I hope I'm wrong here, truly, but I suspect there will be more "the circus is on fire" moments once Bael's and Fiadh's time to shine come around. I'd lower expectations way down to anyone with "common harem expectations".

What follows are some generalized thoughts that sometimes delve into spoilery territory, so I'm putting everything under spoilers to be safe, as I don't want to ruin the experience of anyone who's thoroughly enjoying the story with spoilers.

I was pleasantly surprised by Leala. Quite surprised. The one that comes from the "villain" family (they're just way too convenient to be the actual villains imo) to be the one whose stocks shot up the most?

She's smart, and with very high standards for everything, with a questioning mind that isn't above placing doubt on her own family and is willing to earnestly investigate it - so long as we also don't exempt the Gryms from being investigated, which is totally fair if you consider things from where she's standing. She then goes on to be shown as having a very big heart for those she truly considers friends and is one of the key players in the big emotional climax of the story (no horny you degenerate, I'm talking about Lea's scene with Orlaith).

Regretfully and truly speaking though? I care about most of the characters less and less. There are a couple, like Lea that I still like a lot and still make me look forward to updates in order to see how they advance, but I'm far less engaged now than I was before. The worldbuilding and culture that have been set bother me by themselves, what with it being basically canon now that the main families are, for the most part, swingers (or something akin to that. Most aren't bothered by their fiancés having lovers on the side and many outright "outsource males with magic affinity" to impregnate the wife (and raise the child from the union as the couple's legitimate child) in order to try and maintain access to magic in their family name. There's even a joke with "Doogie" about how he and his wife won't require the MC's services).

It all makes sense and it's written well enough, yes. But it's content and setting that I just don't appreciate. Then again, that's me, and I suppose most other people's mileage will vary, but it does put into perspective that THIS is the culture established in which most, if not all of the LIs grew up in and view as "normal". Which in turn, will invariably color the reader's expectations of all LIs.

But hey, to each their own.

Guess we'll wait and see what we get in the future.

This was actually a measured criticism of the story. The key choice Nim made that most likely benefited the story was differentiating the TNoM universe from Earth, otherwise I imagine this thread would be plagued with zealots screaming "blasphemy!" at every little thing.

Yes, but with those marriages, weren't they more often arranged marriages between the families? So it would make sense that they take the love out of love-making and would be more inclined to find 'love' elsewhere.

I feel like we'll have a choice to either make the LI's all fall in love with the MC and therefor not need to find 'love' outside of the marriage (because it's one they've chosen instead of been forced into), or you can just have the MC be the bull and impregnate them with you magic affinity.

Being honest, I hope that's a direction we can take. Cause I have some impressions and suspicions that, if correct, would make me want to not have a number of the LIs in a relationship at all

At the same time, this is a porn game and I detest missing on content, especially of the spicy variety.

So if a modular system where we could shape the kind of relationship with each girl was implemented, that'd be ideal - including the 3 Grym girls, as I'm sure many folks, myself included, would want to revise their approach to them for whatever reasons suit their fancy.

Personally, I love everything about Anwen, but those nipple piercings are gigantic, massive turn offs. The face ones are fine and I even like them, but anywhere else just makes me want to nope out and I can't enjoy interactions with those things in there. But that is a subjective thing, and a very me thing, with folks having different takes and views about it.

Just mentioned that as an example because I don't want to mention or use Aine, the subject of the latest big hubbub, as an example and risk reigniting a conversation that already had all of it's constructive and useful things pointed out.

And hey, there's already a precedent canonically established for that "modular relationship" thing: the old man Cymhen himself, who did exactly that - fucked everything that moves without a care in the world, developing actual bonds with only a select few (Aine's mother being one of them).

Given that the girls all have been raised in a setting where all-out fuckery is normalized and expected, and anything other than that comes off as a shock and/or with surprise, my interest in a number of the LIs have plummeted.

Then again, I might be wrong about that, and hope I am. But I've seen (and actually met) plenty of them "wild girls" to have my expectations set very solidly.

I personally like piercings and tattoos, so Anwen is my favorite.

The way I see it, there may be some 'package deals' or inter-harem throuples like how if you look at the character sheet seems to group them (Bael & Fiadh, Orl & Lea, the Grym girls) which may give extra/expanded scenes, but I think it'd be easy to have a lover, fwb, and friend path for each. Unless there is an LI we haven't been introduced to yet, I don't think the scope would be too large with the capabilities the dev has already shown.

The only two LI's who started/took a turn for the worse for me was Bael with her lewd insta, and... well, we don't need to bring that issue up again. For Bael, I'm just not a big fan of LI's showing themselves off like that, whether before or during a relationship.

It was a wall of text from some guy, where skimming through it. His main complaints seem to be that Aine comes across like a "high class prostitute/mega slut" that's really quite "gross". (lmao)...And acts like a whore, that has no interest in Rane outside of his cock. Cerys is the same but milder, and the sex talk makes them both feel "gross" and like "the biggest slags in school"...:censored:

He then goes on to say that because of that, Aine should just be a one time encounter and shouldn't be a LI. And that we should have the option of telling Cerys that her and Rane are "not romantically compatible" and have them break up because, CLEARLY all we should be thinking about with how eager they both were to have sex with Rane, and with how "slutty" they were both acting. That we should (I'm not kidding, he actually wrote this...:cautious:) be thinking about "how many men they've been with" and "we shouldn't take either of them seriously romantically".

Because apparently now even Cerys?!?!? has been hinting too much that she's been with other men...o_Oo_Oo_O
She literally saved her self for MC, I swear some people's kids can't read, and have really backwards views on sexuality...
