Hello everyone,
This will be a short update because there's not really much to write about.
Except that I'm uploading the Beta build right now to send that out to my testers.
As expected, the work on this Chapter Finale was less than on the previous ones.
The Chapter still ends with a ~40-second-long cinematic. On top of that, I finished 22 renders this week.
The Beta phase will run for about 2 weeks so I have enough time to be lazy and play Diablo 4.
Just kidding, of course.
While the guys test the build, I'll finish the Gallery renders and continue the rework of the game menus, the screen for the "Extras" in this case. If nothing serious comes out of the beta test, you can expect the release of Chapter 3 in about 2 weeks.
The (probably) final numbers for Chapter 3:
1066 static renders
23 animations
5034 lines in the script file

Why do you write that you are kidding? It sounds like an excellent idea to me. It is good to take a break and laze about once in a while. Please don't burn yourself out making this.The Beta phase will run for about 2 weeks so I have enough time to be lazy and play Diablo 4.

Hey everyone,
Just a short update about the Beta and the progression.
So far nothing serious came up. 2 minor inconsistencies that were pretty easily fixed and the usual typos and grammar mistakes.
I'm mostly done with the polish and the work on the menus. Right now everything looks good for a release next week.
I want to implement 2 minor things while giving the testers a bit more time.
One thing I already implemented is the new Extras screen, which will be the new "menu" for the Gallery and the Achievements. And 2 new additions, although one will be locked and implemented at a later release.
The style of the menu follows the main menu so it looks consistent through all menus. At least, that's the goal when I'm done (probably with the CH4 release).
One of the new images for the menu is the one above.
But that's for the "Coming soon" Extra, so you'll only see a black-and-white version of it in-game.
I liked the result so much that I decided to do a full render and make it available now.
Thank you, but usually "working" on the game IS my time off.
Only a few scenes have been "work" actually. For the rest I enjoyed my time working on it.
So don't worry, I won't burn out myself doing this.
That's it for now. A few more days...
